AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

it usually lies on the floor behind the cab, or if I'm feeling colourful, I put it on my electric drum kit's snare to remind me of certain drummers in my past lives.It's not about the size of it, it's how you use it

Received the H1855 this week! 
Before yesterday’s outdoor gig, fired her up at home. WOW — stupid loud! (Or maybe I should say — an intelligently designed, decibel deafening, low-end sound-wave machine!)
And clear! Unreal clarity in the lows and mids. Zero mud. At first I was a wee bit intimidated by how clear everything I played was coming through — the good and the “otherwise”. But then I quickly realized that the clarity will shine in a band setting.
The CMA Biker Blessing event was fun — especially since I could really hear what I was playing. Granted, I haven’t had the chance to play with a lot of different cabs live, but this cab not only cut through the mix, it also sat in the mix very well.
After turning it up at soundcheck to where I was satisfied, our 70+ rented sound guy walked over and instructed me to turn it up some more. I smiled and complied. And then I smiled some more.
I did receive 3” port plugs earlier in the day (thank you Zoro.com) and plugged two-holes diagonally. I didn’t want the neighbors in the back to hear too much bass.
Looking forward to shaking the walls of the band’s basement rehearsal space later today and tomorrow.
Very grateful to receive this cab and enjoy the mindset of Duke and AudioKinesis!

Yeah, I’d have enjoyed standing in your shoes for a bit and cranking that thing up. Sounds like a pretty cool experience to me!

I think this cab should come with a warning sticker: Proceed with caution when increasing master volume at smaller venues.
FWIW: The Genz Benz 9.2 ShuttleMax instruction manual suggests setting the master volume level at 9:00 and EQ’ing from there. When I first plugged in the H1855, I started at 3:00. Whoops. My bad.

Congrats! Glad to hear it's working out so well for you!
His last post here was Oct 9, 2019. Is that right? I gave him a deposit in October based on a 15 week delivery and that is the last I have heard from him.
Sounds right. I've been emailing since January trying to buy another cabinet and never got an answer. I don't need the cabinet now so I haven't emailed in a month or two but still seems that nobody has heard from him so I was just concerned about him.
Same boat. Put a deposit down in August for a 16 week build time. Talked to him a few times late 2019 and maybe once in January. Haven't heard from him since but have tried to follow up either. I am not in a hurry though.

There were some family illness issues he was addessing IIRC, but I thought those were in his rearview mirror. Hopefully all is well with him personally. He's a national treasure in the good human being department and in the bass cab department as well.
He truly is. Meeting my audio physics senpai at the DFW Talkbass meet up was one of the highlights of my musical life.
I heard back from him middle of May. He is still taking care of family. Anticipation was to get back to cabs again in June. But he was not sure of the timeline. I'm sure he will get back to work soon.
