Anyone else notice the Thunderchild and Baer ML115 they also listed? And in the background appears a Sonic Farm Tantra next to what looks like two Baer ML112s.

Their item descriptions say most of the "boutique" gear is from the collection of a recently departed bassist.

Think this will work?

I can't speak to the bigger cabs. I think the smaller, early Hathors used 3" plugs for their single port. I believe that the ore recent ones use three 2" plugs -- they are smaller, for sure, but don't quote me on the dimensions. You are looking at the right kinds of plugs, though.

Sorry to hear that... from the gear mentioned, sounds like the person in question might have been a TBer. Anyone know who? (If you do and would rather not mention -- or rather not mention here -- totally understandable. Condolences to the person's family, in any case.)

That's part of the "foderaman" estate, there have been threads about quite a few other pieces of it as well.

My TC115 version one has four 3" (three inch) port plugs. I don't know if that helps or not for an 1855.

Thanks for responding! I would guess an 1855 has 3" port plugs as well. But my track record of guessing correctly is somewhat spotty. Hoping an 1855 owner will chime in. Worst case scenario, order one 3" and one 2" and see which one fits.

FWIW, every one of Duke's cabs involving an 18 that I've tried (at least four different models) has been pretty serious business.

Fortunately, our practice space is in the basement of our lead guitarist. So...ain't my walls.

Love it Mark. Speaking from direct experience, your perspective tends to change once your cab causes something really heavy to migrate off an overhead shelf and nearly take out your amp and/or your physical well being.

Tho my experience is limited to TC115’s, not 18’s, I’d agree. Playing without plugs will be a great test of one end of the cab’s range, and I bet you’ll love it! I only add plugs as the room requires, and it’s wonderful how they tame any boominess in very incremental fashion as you add them.

You can try no plugs, but you're likely going to have to dial your bass eq back. You should experiment, of course, but you're gonna want some plugs IME. Put a pair of socks in them. Whatever until you get the classic orange plugs. I'd recommend 2 diagonally with the 18 for that just right setting.

If the 18 is like the TC115, and I suspect it's similar, plugging all four will give you a nice sealed cab tone, feel and response when that's what you want.

When I started using my Birdhaus 48, I started having to keep an eye on items on the shelf above where I set up at band practice. Even with a 210-watt amp driving it, stuff would gradually migrate toward the edge and fall if I didn’t pay attention.
