I'm crossing my fingers for you (and for us all, really). Two years in a row without a jazz festival would just about kill me. It is, hands down, the one thing I look most forward to each year in our cool city.

I tend to get lazy musically when I'm not in a band situation...kind of ashamed to say it, but I haven't picked up a bass in weeks. This year I've traded GAS for BAS (bicycle acquisition syndrome).

I hear ya! Here’s hoping Tour d’lisle happens this year.

Has anybody paired a Hathor 1533 with a 1203? If I recall correctly, Duke said on here some time ago that they didn’t pair as well as he hoped, or something to that effect. Maybe it was the difference in perceived volume between the two.
If not a 1203, has anyone tried another cab (AK or not) paired with a 1533?

I tried it once. It was total overkill (with a Monique700) in the bar I was in. I wound up unplugging the 1203

I did get the chance to use my 1203 with Shrigg's 1505. The cabinets were directly behind me and I felt like there was a little more presence onstage, but the sound in the house was kind of negligible between using both and just the 1505. Even with the 1505 at 8 ohms, the sound of that cab really overtakes the sound of the 1203.

Well now, have a gig on Friday.
Nearly a year after acquiring my TC115 I get to push it a bit in a full band setting, at a louder level than rehearsal!
I'm confident the WD and the TC will deliver .

No but since I have them - I paired my 1203 with a ELF 2x8 (400 watt cab) and not at any high volume - did not sound bad. Go figure

My amp is a Walkabout which I sometimes run at lower gain settings, so maybe it would benefit from another cone. Or I just want it, just because...

No but since I have them - I paired my 1203 with a ELF 2x8 (400 watt cab) and not at any high volume - did not sound bad. Go figure

I also have a barefaced 210 that I paired with the H1533 once when I had my WD-800, but this was at low volume too. Wish I could’ve tried it in a band setting. I can’t try this with my Walkabout as it would result in a less than 4 ohm load.

I have run my TC112 on top of my TC115 (fits perfectly turned sideways) through my GK Legacy 800 (handles 2 ohms). Both cabs are early generations, both 4-ohm. Both were very present, and seemed balanced, perhaps because of the matching impedance and the 12 being closer to my head. It was monstrously loud, and not something I’ll ever need indoors, for sure.
