AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

I'm dying waiting for my pair. I promised myself I would not email Duke again... The suspense is killing me!
I don't mind a little wait. I'm in the process of moving back to Dallas so I'm fully occupied as it is. I'm looking at late October for my cabs according to Duke.
In the meantime, I'll consider whether to keep my trusty GB Shuttle 9.2 or perhaps acquire a Tecamp Puma 900, GK MB800, Glockenklang Blue Sky or one of the new exotic mini amps (Demeter, Jule, JGR, etc.) to drive my new TC112s. Hmmm....decisions, decisions.

That one definitely has my attention. I used to play through a VTBP201S and Crest power amp system that sounded awesome (but weighed a ton!) back when I was enthusiastic enough to haul around a rack system.
Fun decisions.
Yeah I hope you can get the cabs by the end of October but don't be surprised if it takes longer. I was supposed to receive mine at the latest by the beginning of August, and still haven't received word when I will be receiving them (been over 2 months now). Unfortunately there were things beyond Duke's control that set him back with production.
Hopefully he will be able to get back on track and deliver your cabs in the time period projected for you. Fingers crossed.
In any event judging what has been said about the cabs here, I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.
From that picture I can tell that your cab finish is different from mine. (Mine is several years older.) Looks nice.

Thanks for posting this link (either one of you). Ya know, all that spec info dialogue stuff (maybe that link at least) on those cabs really should be on the Audiokinesis website (hint! )
They're such great and versatile cabs.
The TC112AF I've got gave me a great sound outside with my Shen upright last week and is more than loud enough for the small theatre gigs (elec. bass with drummer) I've got lately.
Bonus for me, the TC112AF is also an excellent acoustic guitar (nylon and steel) cab.

Anybody have any experience running the v-14ohm TC115 and v1-4ohm TC112 together? Just curious if they "jive"......and yes, I am aware of the 2ohm load. If I did this, I would by a spare amp for "slave" duty. Im still gonna wait to hear the 1203's before I decide to get the TC112 to mate my with my TC115. However, if the v1 TC112 and TC115 wing play well together being driven by a slave/master amp setup, then all is a moot point. Then perhaps I need to look at getting 2ea 8ohm cabs. Although, I would much rather keep the gearI have now.....would prefer to augment it. word.
I used the 4-ohm TC115 and 4-ohm TC112 together on occasion. I spoke with Duke first and he said their tuning is similar enough to work well together, and they do just that. It works into a nice scalable rig...TC112, then TC115, then TC112 and TC115 together. I was using a ShuttleMAX 12.2 so I had the ability to use two 4-ohm cabinets. Having said all that, I usually used matched pairs, either 2 x TC112 or for big outdoor shows 2 x TC115. Any of those combinations worked very well indeed! I hope that helps...

Thanks for the encouragement, Chef and Tom! Chef, I'll try to get cab(s) to you to check out, but that's unfortunately not right around the corner, as you'll see in a couple of paragraphs.
Mark, I'm putting that logo on my home audio cabs, but it's pretty expensive (milled aluminum) and not real practical to attach to bass cabs, and I'm not sure any stick-on attachment (glue or double-sided tape) would survive a hit. So the bass cab logo is still unresolved.
I have been a lot slower than I'd hoped in getting orders filled, and greatly appreciate the patience of those of you who have been waiting for your cabs. It's time that I let you guys know one of the things that has slowed me down. Several weeks ago I had a tablesaw kick-back on me. The board I was cutting flipped over, and my right hand was slapped into the blade. I lost one joint off the pinky and two joints off the ring finger, notched my traffic finger about 2/3 of the way through, and notched the knuckle of my index finger about halfway through. They had to repair the severed extensor tendons in the index and traffic fingers. The thumb still works fairly well, but it was sprained. I now have some use of the index finger, and I'm looking forward to the day when I can deploy my traffic finger as needed to fully express myself. I've been working left-handed, and things take me a lot longer (not that I was any speed demon to begin with!).
Apparently the two fingers that got bobbed are the only two that a bass player doesn't absolutely need. I'm not a bass player, but theoretically I've still got the parts to become one!
So anyway I've been working considerably longer hours and will continue to do so as I get caught up. There are no tasks that I can't do, it just takes me longer, sometimes a lot longer. It could have been worse, and there are lots of people out there with far worse injuries or handicaps, so it's just one of those things that makes life a bit more interesting and challenging. I can still count to ten... just have to take one shoe off to do it!

Hey Duke, I know all too well what happens when you get even slightly distracted when using these types of tools. The index finger on my left hand is about 1/4" shorter now due to being in a rush at the router table while trying to get a cabinet ready for NAMM a few years back. So sorry to hear about this and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Dang, Duke! Shocked to hear of your accident, wishing you the best. Long term, your healing is more important than any short term production disruptions, please keep that in mind.
