Indeed! I'm going to see him in 8 days, I can't wait. I imagine he's coming to your burg as well.

Nice! Thanks for the heads-up. I missed fIREHOSE last time through here. Schuba's would be a great place to see him.

nope
not even STL or KC.

Yeah... some things I don't miss about MO. :/ The flip side, though, is that while everyone comes through big cities, they charge a lot more than if the show was in a smaller city for a similar venue. (IME with Chicago and SF compared to STL).

Bummer!

No problem. I saw him there three years ago and it really was great. Had tickets to see him there last year, but would up too sick to go.

I'm bummed fIREHOSE didn't come east.

True. But I'm a Florida native, and far too many good non-major acts just skipped the state entirely when I was young.

Sorry for the derail. I've followed this thread with great interest. Mike Arnopol's bringing cabs to the Lakland GTG in 2 weeks, can't wait to try them out.

Had my first upright gig with the TC115 last night. Piano trio with guitar instead of drums at a wedding reception. This band has been hearing my rig with TC Electronics rs212, and then a markbass 2x10, and now the Audiochild. The guitar player's comment was, it sounds "normal" like the bass only louder. He has never said that before, and I didn't change any other part of my signal chain. Pretty damn good compliment from a guitar player. I myself noticed that little things like the snap of the strings when I really dig in, and subtle little rattles and virbrato were really apparent, which so helps the overall musicality of the performance. Best of all, was I had to walk about 50 yards from load into to the stage at the country club, and I did it carrying the TC115 in one hand without any problems. Pretty awesome. Not a high-volume gig, but the strengths of this speaker really came through.

Well I am the lucky! Most likely undeserving beta tester for the 1512.

I will be putting it threw the paces with my Bassman 20. Interested in seeing what kind of response I can get from such low wattage!

Anyone who is in or will be in the Cincinnati area and would like to check it out let me know! I would love to hear multiple heads through it!

Nice. I did the house band open mike thing last night with my 112AF and a friend brought in his beater upright, strung with weed wackers. The TC cab is just amazing for upright -- my friend is going to have serious GAS now, I'm sure. ;)

Man I want me one of them TC115's. Duke, would you like a beta tester in the Northeast? I'm in Portland, ME and do a lot of gigs on P bass and upright, music theater pits and rock and roll bands. Imagine the bass sections of the NY Philharmonic or Boston Symphony equipped with Thunder-children -- now that would be bass!!

Thanks but the TC115 is way past the beta-test stage. Actually I don't think it was ever really beta-tested; I had a pretty good idea that it would be successful, as an upsize variation of the Thunderchild 112 (which had been pretty thoroughly beta-tested). Likewise the TC212 was never really beta-tested, because it was likewise just a natural progression of the Thunderchild theme. It's mainly when I do something that goes into new territory (new to me at least) that I seek out beta testers.

Thank you, Duke, I agree the 115 doesn't need any testing. My previous post was just a string of enthusiastic ideas. But I'd love to be considered for some future design as a beta tester. My ideal cab for the theater would sound good with both electric bass guitar and amplified double bass, especially bowing the double bass.

For your playing context, the TC112 might be perfect for you. Smaller footpring on stage, and MUCH more output than the typical 112. It will save you a few pounds and a bit of room in the pit.

My theatre experience was all little theatre stuff, so I don't know if it's different in larger venues, but I would vote for the 112. The 115, especially the wide, doesn't seem as pit-friendly.

Thank you Steve, these are pretty small theaters, probably the 112 is plenty most of the time. But I'm thinking the compact 115 for the SPL potential and I hear its got nicer mids and highs.

I own both. Actually, I find the TC115 (I have a compact composite) slightly darker sounding than my TC112 (only slightly) due, I assume to a bit more wump down low. The top end is just a smidge smoother, I assume due to a slightly lower crossover point (just guessing) that puts a bit more upper mids through the horn versus the top of the driver.

The SPL difference is very noticable though, and it keeps up with my Berg AE212 nicely. It is bigger, but not by that much, so +1.

I'm pretty sure you would be happy with either one, and the composite TC115 Compact is actually a touch lighter than the TC112 (which is only available in 'wood').
