Audioslave breaks up...

Cornell is an amazing solo performer and I'm sure that his new stuff will be amazing, but to say that Audioslave was second-rate implies that the musicians in the band were not talented (which they all certainly are) and that they did not make cool rock music (when compared to the garbage music out there today).

Hopefully Tom, Tim, and Brad will convince Zach to not be crazy and Rage can rise once again.

I didn't particulary like Audioslave. But that's not the point.

Didn't anyone else see this coming from the first album? I mean Cornell said from the start he was uneasy about the whole thing. Besides, they did they're 3 records and Rage is doing Coachella, it makes sense.

That said, honestly, I for one hope to god that Rage doesn't reunite. Yes, they're awesome and bad ass, but they were getting old. We all know the world isn't fair to minorities and we all know the governmant can (and sometimes does suck).

But Tom, for all his brililance, needs to stop using the same fx tricks.

I DO hope they do a tour and rock it like they used to, but Chris had a good point with Soundgarden about making another record and maybe having fans bummed out by it. I almost feel if Rage did do another album it would be anti-climatic.

I guess I was lucky to have seen Audioslave live last year. They kicked ass and event did a mini rage set as part of their show.I will miss them.Hopefully it's a taking a break for a couple of years kinda thing. And yes Cornell is one of the best singers out there period.

I didn't plan on commenting here but I just hate to hear this over and over. I dont understand why everyone NEEDS to constantly compare bands to previous bands that included same members. I mean yes I understand they have the same musicians in a new band, but think about it. It's not as if Chris, Tom, Tim, and Brad got together and said, "Let's start something new because it is going to be better than anything we have done. Better than RATM, better than SG."
In reality, four people got together to pursue what they love doing. And if I'm not mistaken, everyone here also shares the same passion for music. And thats all they're are doing. Creating, playing, and sharing music.
Sure you can have you own opinion. love/hate rage, love/hate SG, love/hate audioslave, and any combination of the three. That's fine. That is the beauty of it all. We all have our own preference and own opportunity to listen to what we like. However, I don't find it necessary to critisize something of this matter.

Whatever happened to listening to music for the music? You know, for the original purpose of enjoyment? It's as if we have gotten so far beyond ourselves that we have forgotten to just listen. :scowl:

And by the way, I am a fan of all three bands. And I would very much love for Rage to get back together, I've never seen them live:rollno: ....
