Austin vacation....finally!

Sure can, and you gotta love something about a place with a handwritten sign on the PA telling you to "watch your volume, remember you are in a concrete bunker"
O.K. everyone, just got back to California after a great week in Austin. I have to give some "props" to all the TB'ers who submitted to this posts with their suggestions..thanks all!
I especially want to thank a couple of new friends from Austin.
First, Ronn and the Eggmen who we saw last Saturday night at Jovita's. Ronn, you're a great guy, and a great bass player. You just killed the beatle's tunes. And thanks for the cool sticker you gave me to add to my bass case, I forgot to ask how much I owed you for it so let me know and i'll make it right. I wasn't trying to be a weasel...really.
Secondly, to Cherie and your husband Steve. We had an awesome time last night watching you play at Larry's Lone Star. And having dinner with you at True Grits was a blast and the food was just as you said it would be, delicious, but could it be any bigger?
Cherie, you put on a great show, you're even sweeter in person than on talkbass and you really know how to rock that bass! You guys made Carrie and I feel like old friends, and everyone at Larry's Lone Star made us feel real welcome too. It was a great way to end our week in Austin. Thanks!
We managed to hit all the bass stores in Austin, got to some of the restaurants you all suggested, got about 6 hours of ink done, but we really needed another month to see everything. We'll be back for sure.
If any of you TB'ers are thinking of visiting Austin don't pass it up. The Continental Club is great, as is about a hundred other clubs in the Austin are. And if you want to see some spectacular basses, make sure you stop by the Bass Emporium, cool dudes, awesome basses. Lefties you probably will escape with your wallet intact but you righties.....well.

I'm so pleased that y'all had fun! We really enjoyed getting to know you both, and look forward to next time. We had a great time with y'all! If we ever get the scratch together to visit California, we're coming to your neck of the woods first! 
If they make the servings at True Grits any bigger, they'll need to buy a wide load permit, per plate. LOL! As good as their desserts are, I almost never order them. No room left for pie! Next time, we'll have to make sure and leave room for it.
My only regret is that y'all missed the finale of the evening. Everyone went outside to see some very fine and accomplished fire twirling. Remember the woman in the leopard-print top and the little brown leather cap? Dirty-blonde hair, green eyes? That's Willow. She is a trained fire twirler, and *man*, is she good at it! I'd set my hair on fire if I tried the stuff she does.
Give Carrie a big hug from me...and PM me your snail addy so I can send you something. No, nothing in a cedar box from Hawaii! LOL!
