Avatar 212 - Am I expecting too much?

I have an Avatar B212 with those drivers, Genz-Benz remnants that Dave at Avatar had for a while. It sounds GREAT! I actually prefer it to my Aguilar GS112 and GS112NT setup. Here are both.

When my back was still fairly decent and I could load it. I played through a GBE1200 atop an UBER 212. It was more than loud enough for any situation I found myself in. Once jammed with a guitarist who had a Twin cranked and I mean cranked. Pedals in the front end and the amp on 10. Drummer had a big kit played loud but had decent dynamics (unlike the guitarist) The 1200 and the UBER hung in there without breaking a sweat. Rolled on lots of mids. Sounded to my ear way too middy soloed but killed in the mix (mids are a bassist's best friends). Granted the UBER is miles above the Avatar but still 12's are 12's. I think the OP needs to ditch the bmax and get a real pre or just go with a nice head.

Only a little above my Avatar 212. It has the GB Faital 12PR300s in it. Lol.
Pic somewhere in this thread.
