40-1k is just where the 153 will destroy the 2x10s. Above that, it's more even, with some differences in tone profile. The 153 will not be as loud above 1khz.
1200hz is a signature string noise area, and 2500hz is a signature midrange grind area. Those are places where the 153 might not be as loud when you're standing directly in front of it as the 4x10 (or vertical 2x10s).
Midrange dispersion isn't really that big of an advantage for the 153 given you're using a vertical array. The 10s beam a little earlier, but are much louder in the upper mids.
For the vast majority of players, being able to get much louder below 1khz and much much louder below 100hz will be a huge difference in apparent loudness. The majority of all bass guitar content is under 1khz.
