So with the neodymium situation, what's gonna happen to the 3015 for this cab? Is that why we're having trouble getting the 4 ohm version?

First of all, it's not a 3015 ; } - it's a 3015LF. But yes, neo is a sliding slope right now.

Swap the 4 ohm into the LDS?
In a few moments of insanity I considered buying the avatar version 15/6 just for the 4 ohm woofer, then replacing 8 ohm into avatar and selling. Yes, it would be costly but a 4 ohm fEarful truely makes me salivate.

I went through the same thought experiment. Didn't wanna deal with having a new xover made, etc. Simply wound up with both
Just ordered my TB153 today and Dave at Avatar said current pricing will only last until Friday.

I just called Avatar and spoke with Dave. Hell of a nice guy! We had a long conversation about the neo situation in China. He said he rarely posts on TB but he may go on tonight and address a few things.
Anyways, you guys finally broke me down from reading all these great posts..G.A.S. got the better of me. I've never owned a 3 way bass cab, so..I went ahead and ordered a 4ohm TB153 in LineX !!! It'll be paired up with my Shuttle 9.0. Can't wait to hear it!
I was going to buy the optional $30 slip cover, but then figured it would only be $20 more for the LineX. So, Line X it was! I figured having a bomb proof bass cab can't hurt, right? ;-)

TB153 Received! I wasn't expecting it until tomorrow, but when I got home today, the big box almost scared my as I approached my front porch.

Anyway, it's sounding really good from what I can tell so far. My small house with no band is not a good indicator, but I was able to turn it up just a fair amount and so far it's showing no signs of farting out, my ears hurt before I could really put it to any kind of test. And I don't want my neighbors to get mad. My Hartke combo LOVES to fart out. So already that's an improvement. I'm finding it very midrangey, at least compared to what I'm used to, so I'm still playing with my (also brand new) MB500 to figure out what EQ I like best. The real test of this will be during rehearsal/gig, of course. It's definitely not a light cab, but it's a bit lighter than my Hartke.
I'm excited to hear it with my Novation K-Station. I imagine it will absolutely stomp!

Sweet setup. Did you get the 8ohm or 4ohm? Just curious as it seems more people are buying the 8ohm. I however ordered a 4ohm last week.
It's the 4 ohm, so I potentially have usage of every single one of the 500 watts available in the head.
I just took a few minutes from playing to post on here, then went back to playing, and then realized how it really sounds like professional bass players usually sound through a PA. Very sweet. Amazing how certain notes just JUMP right off the bass, so I am really going to be able to hear myself now, I think.

That's awesome! Glad to see another 4ohm owner. I'll be using mine with a Shuttle 9.0. The one thing that sold me on this cab was the fact that I never had a three-way cabinet. I think having that mid driver is going to help me achieve 'the tone' I've been searching for in my head all these years.
It very well might. For me, what I'm hoping to achieve is to put the "bottom" back in my bass sound, to cut through the mix and be heard, and to have a strong and clear upper register that is also actually heard without sacrificing bottom end. I am feeling hopeful that this cab will do it. At some point I will embark on a fEarful project, though. I'm thinking a 12/6 which would serve as my small rig and the Avatar would be my big rig.
Neodymium: Holy crap! Those neo speakers have really gotten expensive, as the Chinese have clamped down on export of rare earth metals. I guess this was their plan all along; it's like a drug dealer: they give you "a taste," then pull it back and increase the price after you're hooked. Well, there's still ferrite, which is deeper and handles more power than neo anyway.
On topic, more or less: I have a ferrite Avatar 12, and it's very nice, has good low end, especially for a 12. It's a reasonable weight, even not being neo. It's not very loud, but makes a good small gig cab.

I was happy with the shipping of the cab. I thought, since it's a heavy item, that they might have thrown it around a little, but the box was in good shaped and well packed.
Interesting that it was a FedEx ship, but the guy dropped it off in a Ryder truck. Whatever, it's here!
Great cab and glad I got in before the first Neo price hike, but wish I got in with the Introductory price.
