+1 Sorry if my post came off wrong. I just remember the thread about the original cabinet and it seemed like everyone had something negative to say about the design and had a million suggestions about improvement but was still counting on "avatar pricing". a lot of those people probably had no intention of purchasing one, either.

I think this cabinet will probably fill the niche it is intended to. There are a few people you can get the real deal from for some more dollars and now you can get close enough for the less picky for less.

Apparently, design parameter #1 was to use the existing 410 cabinet with the Eminence Kappalite 3015LF driver, and go from there. That seems like a rather extreme shortcut. Hopefully, it works out.

It had better weigh less than 65 lbs., or else it's nothing special for a neo cab.

If the Avatar 4x10 weighs 65lbs as is claimed, I'd expect a couple pounds of weight reduction for the 15/6. Horn's about the same, an alphalite and 3015Lf should weigh a few pounds less than four deltalite 10s.

Well I think this is very cool .

Even though it's not perfect like the fEarfuls are it's leaps and bounds above almost all the big cab makers offerings just by using that Kappalite 3015LF in a three way design . Kudos to Avatar for making this kind of cab available to the masses and in 4 ohms too . I'm very tempted by these even though I'm cab rich right now and I love the cabs I have .

Also on the 6" sealed back mid . I've had a 12/6/1 with the Alpha and now I have a cab with the LA6-CBMR 6.5 mid and I kind of prefer the sealed back mid . It's not as smooth and seamless with the woofer for sure but I like the tone when playing with my band , it cuts through better for me . I know Dave isn't using that mid but I'm just making the point that a sealed back mid can sound good and till some of us hear what it sounds like we shouldn't knock it too much . I'd really like to try one of these .

Looks great to me at that price. I emailed asking for a weight. I have a nEarful LDS 15/6 that kills, but if this is under 60 lbs and available at 4 Ohms it'd be an ideal match for my Walkabout and Shuttle 3 heads and I'll snap one up.

Thats probably why he used the "square" cab rather than the GreenBoy 15/6 tall rectangular cab. I bet it was to keep some continuity in using 2 different cab sizes - the 210/112, and the 212 or 15/6 size. I was just thinking today that I should email Dave to see if there is a new cab style on the way...15/6. I swear I was gonna email him ;)

The "TB153", B212 and B410 all share the same 27hx24.5wx16.5d box, it looks like. I don't get why he needed a ceramic mid that handles more power above 800 hz, don't like the tolex, the 3/4 inch box, or the goofy pseudo-retro badge, but for only $500, it sure beats some of the more expensive froo froo stuff I see out there...................

Here's a cool bit though- "We got lots of great input from the knowledgeable players at Talkbass.com. After much chat on the forums, the general consensus was the we should use the best Neo 15 made in America..." and "Again on Talkbass.com, the consensus was that a sealed back mid was the only way to go."

12dB/Octave cross over at 800 to the mid and 5K for the tweet.

Yes. I remember that thread. I'm glad that this has come to pass and hopefully dave will do well with this nEarful variant.

I am a huge fan of how the 410 and 212 Avatar cabs sound, but when do you stand back and ask "What are the chances that one size fits all box is perfectly sized and voiced for all of the configurations he uses?" I am not discounting this cab won't sound good, keep 'em coming Dave and I hope this sounds like the others.
