Avatar Owners Club Pt. 2

I'm looking at adding another avatar cab to my rig....
Presently I'm playing an American '57 Reissue through an Ampeg SVT-4 with the Avatar 410 NEO cabinet (8 OHM). I mostly play in a hardcore band with a similar bass tone to Bryan Kienlen's (Bouncing Souls) tone in Anchors Away... but I on occasion play some rockabilly and bluegrass stuff as well (presently on the P, but have been looking at uprights). I've been weary of what cabinet to add without testing it, so I'd be interseted in suggestions that would hopefully serve for both areas of playing.
My gut is telling me the 212 NEO @ 8 OHM to keep the punchiness, but give me a little bit more versatility... but I really don't know. Opinions?

On Zzounds yesterday I noticed Hartke's Hy410 was only $30.00 more than my brand new B410NEO (same weight and 1000w), but comes with detachable casters, which adds another $24 to my Avatar. So virtually the same price.
There's a thread floating around regarding the cost of Neo going up. It looks like Avatar was the first to raise their prices, but I would imagine others will follow. Hartke has good value in their products as well.

I have a 6 string bass and I was wondering what would be best for my rig. 2 b210 neos or a b210 neo and a 115 cab. Any thoughts?
I'd go with 12s, more warmth than 10s and no mud from 15s. Go push some 12 air and you'll be hooked.
I'm not sure if Avatar ever made a bass cabinet with an 18. I bought my first Avatars in 2002 and no 18s were available then. I do believe that Dave offered a PA sub with an 18 before that though...

I'd like a number- currently running 2 SB112's, one of which I've modded by removing the horn tweeter and replacing it with a 6" mid driver.

I only had the bread to mod one cab now, but I plan on modding the other, only this time, plugging the hole where the tweeter is, and installing the mid on the opposite side, so when I stack them, the mid drivers will be directly near each other, in order to combat phase issues and such.

Let me praise Dave at Avatar for taking care of my order SUPER FAST. I just got a B210 Neo, great cab, but I wanted a cover for it to keep it looking minty on the road. I called him late Wednesday afternoon and had the cover this morning (Saturday). Thanks for the great service.

I'm hooked on 12's! Been playing through my new blue SB112 and it's a great standalone cab. Two of them would be enough for any gig! Sweet full, clear tone with my Carvin head!
Why not get another Avatar Neo 410? From what I've heard on here getting a matching cab is always the best way to.
But why exactly are you looking for another cab? Is it simply volume or are you looking for something else?
THe Avatar TB153 has been getting a lot of love here recently.

Twelves are great, especially to my ear. They're a great alternative to 10's and 15's, and definitely work well with bass. I doubt I'll ever go back to anything else!
What brand / type of speaker did you pick for the mod you did on the SB112? My little combo (SWR Baby Blue II) uses 2x8" and a 5" speaker in place of the horn, it has nice smoth highs without being too brittle/metalic.
This guy runs the exact same set up as I do. I kinda know what he means. The Ampeg SVT 4 can do a lot with two cabs. I often wondered what the tone would be like if you had the lows going to one cab and the highs to another. Even if both cabs are 410s, it would be interesting.
But I also read somewhere else on this thread that the 410s actually handle the lows better than the 212s. I don't know. All this amp stuff gets confusing sometimes.
OH! I got an Avatar too! (playing my JEA Custom by Cataldo Custom basses! Love that guy!)
