Hello Gents!

I purchased this cab only to use for small gigs. This is a loud cab and tastefully loud at that. So I am getting rid of my GK 2/12 this cab just right. Can I get a numba!

I have a B210 and a SB112 (Delta) both 8 ohms and looking to get either a 8 ohm B212 or B410. I have a GB Shuttle 9.0 so power will not be an issue although 4 ohm minimun. I'm tired of lugging either or both cabs of my existing cabs to practice at my guitar player's home studio/practice location; not so young anymore. :)

1) I'm having trouble deciding which cab would sound better as a stand alone for practice. Will the B212 provide enough low end? I have read comments that indicate the B212 is a midrange cab but lacking a bit in the loww end and the B410 seems to have it all.

2) There will be times when I will stack my B210 on top for larger gigs. If I get the B410 will it be an issue with the difference in power distribution between the B410 and B212. I know this will not be an issue stacking the B212 and the B210.

Any and all input is welcomed but would love to hear from those that have experience w/ the B41o and B212 as a stand alone and as a combo w/ the B210!

If you have an 8 ohm 2x10 and a 4 ohm 4x10, each 10 would get the same amount of power. Your amp would need to be able to handle a 2.7 ohm load to do this however.

Well I have a 4 ohm SB112 that is my main cab for everything but big gigs. Then I use a 212. It's sort of a frankencab, a SWR Workingman 212, I loaded with Emenince Delta 12LF (like my SB112), upgraded the crossover with one of Daves (Avatar) upgraded to a foster horn from the little LeSon tweeter. It's 1000W 4 ohm, real close to an Avatar 212. I also had a SWR Goliath III 410. I have used both with my SWR SM400 and prefer the 212, more warmth and still got punch. I have basically moved all my cabs to 12s, it all started with the SB112, one hell of a cab. Sold the 410 in favor of the 212. But it's all about your personal taste, and how heavy a cab your willing to tote:rolleyes:

Today I ordered a B212 8 Ohm Cabinet. I have a B210 and a SB112 (Delta) both 8 ohms that I really enjoy w/ my GB 9.0 (4 ohm min). But, I'm tired of lugging them up and down the stairs at home to practice and gigs. It's an Historic Home in the Historic District here in Apex, NC and the stairwell is fairly narrow. I wanted a cab/ cabs that I could leave at my guitar player's home studio / practice location. It will be used there as a stand alone during practice and when needed, used as a stack at gigs. I will get another B210 in the next couple of weeks to leave there also. That way the only thing I'll need to lug to up and down my stairs is my 4 lb GB 9.0 and a bass! :)

Had trouble deciding between the B212 and the B410. I have read all posts in this thread and I came away with the thought that the B410 sounding better as a stand alone due to nice lows and a more extended range. With that said, a lot of folks here that have the B212 and was happy with it as a stand alone cab. The dliemma was, when used as a stack, I wanted to use it w/ the B210 I have and a B410 would not work w/ my GB 9.0 (4 ohm min). Sounds like most here say the B210/B212 combo sounds great. So, I decided to go the B212 route.

Anyway, below is a pix (a terrible pic at that) of my B210/ SB112 along w/ my GB 9.0. Looking forward to playing through the B212 and hopefully post a pic soon!

Today I ordered a pair of 4 ohm B210's. After playing through a single 4x10 for around 20 years or so, I'm looking forward to the versatility of playing through 2 10's or 4.

Only one issue... Dave ran out of 8 ohm 10" drivers! He says he won't be getting a shipment until near the end of the month.

Something tells me it'll be worth the wait.

Running a '93 SVT II through one Avatar 4x10neo and one older Eden 410xst. I like the mix between Neo magnets with a strong upper mid and the low thump of the Eden (which I consider to be a "dark " sounding cab).

Also, the spartan design of the Avatar cabs has just enough aggro/no BS look to it without being over-the-top. FYI, my buddy has a Marshall style 2x12 and a black tolex Fender style with a cream grill. He pulled the back off of one of the cabs and the build quality was astonishing. The wood was either 11 or 12 ply with an even grain an no natural defects. Depsite the lack of interesting grain, the wood could have been finished by itself. He switched to an open back and when we put the Avatar replacement back on, the fit was incredible. We actually had to put our feet down around the edge to put enough pressure down (but not too much) to coax it the back into the joint. The fit was extremely tight but the two pieces of tolex did not rip and the wood remained true. I would guess that the same attention to detail applies to their bass cabs. Great product/price and highly recommended to those upgrading their gear from average Musician's Friend crapola.
