Avoiding Swamp... errr... Sweaty Buttocks

Oh, and don't wear cotton briefs, they just soak up all that sweat, chafe and make things uncomfy and potentially put some fungal in your jungle. I would recommend “moisture-wicking” synthetics — boxer briefs, as loose boxers or tight-fitting underwear tend to bunch up and chafe in some fairly uncomfortable spots.

A nylon/spandex wicking blend will help keep you dry, and wont ride up nor fall down while you're doing your Flea impression on stage.

And wear black... it tends to hide the sweat-stain better.

Nailed it. As an endurance runner and event manager (read: all day setup prior to set) this response is exactly mine, except I might also add Bodyglide to the equation. Works to avoid bloody nipples too.

I swear by this! In the summer, I keep the basement uncarpeted, and with silk boxers is a great way to avoid Swamp Ash.

I'm sorry to have let you down bassbrothers, but I broke the most sacred of talkbass bylaws by wearing shorts on stage this weekend. I accept my punishment of bass exile and will only play accordion henceforth, never to vote "carrots" again.
