B.P. Magazine suckered me in again

U.K. publication of "Bass Guitar Magazine" is pretty good. Then again I've only read a couple issues and all the pricing is in euros (obviously). Still has way more actual content then B.P.

yeah nothing beats Bass Guitar from the UK i pay like $9 a cover for it at Barnes and Noble every time a new one hit...nothin pisses me off more than grabbing a BP off the rack and finding its all of about 9 pages now 3 pages of ads, 3 pages of tab of songs no one really cares about 2 pages of something worth while and 1 page of obituaries :rollno:

You have to have to have something to read in the bathroom.

you my friend need an iphone...i TB from the can all the time

Yeah, I fell for it too! I got the $15 offer a couple of days ago. I was going to say no however, my daughter is doing a magazine sales fundraiser for Girl Scouts. They will match any other offer and still give the girls credit for the sale. So I went ahead and got it. I figure it will give me something to read for at least one trip to the bathroom!:D

For a free online mag like...I can't remember the name...Tom Bowlus is the boss there..I don't mind reading online b/c it's FREE. I can't complain about something free. I like his mag, BTW. :bassist:

But for something I'm paying for, I don't like "reading it" online; I want paper in my hands. I'll recycle the mag and do my part, but I want a hard copy.

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, the electronic version of Bass Gear Magazine is free, but we do also offer each issue in a high-quality print version (for a fee, of course), which we ship world-wide.

Tom.

I had canceled my subscription to Bass Player last year because I thought the content of the magazine had really gone downhill. Over the year they kept sending me letters to rejoin and each time the price kept getting lower and lower. Well last week they sent me an offer I just couldn't refuse. One year for just $10. Has anyone else been suckered like that?

Hmmmm

For $10? Yeah, I'd go for it.

Anything more? Fuggitaboutit.

Yeah, BP mag has definitely gone downhill. :mad:It's turned into the USA Today of bass magazines. Their transcriptions suck and it's always B-side, esoteric junk no one's ever heard of. I also subscribe to Guitar World, ONLY because I can get 5 songs with "bass lines" on every issue, and 2 of those are usually classic rock and the other 3 metal(oh, well). Even the articles are more interesting, go figure?? Thanks Guitar World for keep us bassists in mind.

I was looking for some reviews on Bass Player Magazine. I picked up an issue today at B&N just to check it out before I spring for a whole year's subscription. They want $18.99 for the year. The website looks pretty good, with lessons and seemingly lots of info. Would the $18.99 be worth it for someone with 3 months' bass experience (2 years steady guitar, and more of general music)? Or would Bass Guitar Magazine be a better bet? Or neither at this point in my learning?
