So...guys,
A guy at my school who's taking Agricultural mechanics was telling me about his idea of making a guitar for his woodworking project.Now this guy is one that probably isn't going to do very well with that, being that he is a total guitar n00b,but Im not worried about his project.His Idea got me thinking that if I took the same class next semester that I would have the chance to model My own bass guitar.I'm thinking about buying a pre-routed bass body blank from warmoth and then, after fitting it with electronics and pups, buying a neck, tuners,bridge, and all the other fixings to complete it.Is this a good idea?How hard would it actually be for someone who's never tried this before?

then you wouldnt have much woodworking to do in that class. It would be easy... build the body in class and buy the neck, a bit more of a challenge and thats the point. The more you do on your own, the prouder you'll be.

There have been a couple threads about high school shop builds. THIS THREAD is a great example, following a bass from concept to competition.

If you're timid about the neck it makes sense to get a Warmoth neck, maybe one of Carvin's necks with a paddle head, so you can customize the head.

Yea, I wouldnt know how to go about the neck and I like the "paddle head" idea.My origonal idea was to get a neck-through one and then glue the body wings onto it.
