My favorite part of the scene in Back to the Future is, when Marty is turning the amp up, the hum from the amp gets louder (which makes perfect sense if you're turning things up), but it also goes up in pitch. Granted, it heightens the anticipation (which is why they did it), but in the real world, hum is always at one frequency (which depends on your location)

A couple of these would make that a reality. 30 inch poly cone driven by a servo motor instead of a traditional voice coil and a 7500w amp. I've heard these and they will absolutely make you sick to your stomach. Of course if you can afford a few of these then you could probably move to a better neighborhood but thats a different thread.

It isn't this new offering. How could it be, it's new? Let's see: earbuds, loud concerts (more people attend loud concerts than play the music at loud concerts). Movies are unnecessarily loud these days.
Since many crank their earbuds and also go to loud concerts then crank their earbuds because of hearing loss, I think you have probable cause. :)
