Backordered Ampeg Heritage 50th Anniversary SVT

Unfortunately, the industry is still struggling with supply issues and Yamaha is no exception. But it seems like they’re doing better than the drums division…2 high end lines have halted production for the year due to issues getting finishing materials.
Wow, didn’t know they had shut some drum production. Continuing supply chain issues are understandable for sure just wish we could get a more accurate delivery date. It is what it is I suppose…

Old is right on man! I’m treating myself for my 50th birthday

I haven’t heard the 50th Anniversary SVT in person, but judging by what I’ve heard listening to sound clips of it on my headphones, it’s incredible!

Hang in there!!!:bassist:

I’m planning on buying a Heritage SVT-CL this year, so I’ll be impatiently playing the waiting game too!:)

BTW, 50 ain’t old, young man! I’ll be turning the Big Six-O this summer!!:D

I bought a new one last year, and it performed flawlessly for outdoor shows with the amp running 3+ hours in the heat. I was hesitant to buy one as I am a vintage tube amp guy, but I was really impressed with it.

I only sold it because an opportunity to pick up a 1973 version popped up locally. I didn’t get to do an A/B, but I couldn’t resist the vintage one with the GE 6550’s. I think it’s the best SVT I’ve owned, as it’s just got so much presence. That said, I think the 50th anniversary is a GREAT amp. I guess my only complaint was the difficulty in changing preamp tubes and now that I remember, the internal cord from the pre was just laying there and exposed to the power tubes. I had to come up with a zip tie solution so the cord wouldn’t cook if it came to rest against a 6550.

Wow thanks for the info, especially on the potential for a wire to be on the tubes that would be terrible!

I’ll buying a new Heritage SVT-CL in the near future. If you don’t mind posting instructions on how to access the wire that you had to zip-tie out of harm’s way, I’d greatly appreciate it.

If it arrived like mine, it will be easy to spot as it’s dangling down into the power tube area. I screwed a plastic clip that I could anchor a zip tie to and just made sure it was pulled away from touching any tube. Not too much tension…just enough to pull it to the side and out of the way. No idea if it was just mine or all of them are like that.

Still waiting as well. Last I talked with Sweetwater they hadn't got an update from Ampeg on timeline. Boo
Every time I call MF I get a delay of one week, I wonder if it’s a canned answer at this point. Hopefully we’ll both get ours before long. It seems that I read somewhere that Ampeg is only producing the Heritage 50th tube amps at the moment due to 6550 tubes supply and demand. I searched but can’t find it now so perhaps I dreamt it…

Sweetwater told me they're getting some this Friday (allegedly) and next week as well. They let me know that's just what Ampeg told them, but here's hoping! I will say, I just got my GK 800RB back and it sounds rather fantastic through the 50th 810
