Ah interesting. I thought MF and Guitar Center were basically the same company. GC shows as “in stock”. I’d drop the MF order and try GC.
Yeah I believe GC bought MF several years ago, the only inventory they have of this model is what is already in stores and open box. Both stores show the same inventory status as available online but there aren’t any new from Ampeg in original packaging. They tried sending one from a store in a box and bubble wrap but it got destroyed in transit by UPS. Looked at Sweetwater but they’re out of stock and expecting more mid-April. I’m also not sure if they’d price match what I got at MF, sometimes they have and sometimes not.
Oh man. That disappointing to read.
My experience with SW, when items are in stock, is excellent. When items are on backorder, the order slips month to month with very little explanation.

One of my biggest regrets was trading off my 50th Anniversary SVT + matching 8x10 Fridge. It was a wonderful setup.

Sounds like a great b-day present and I'm sure it's worth it however, my only bad opinion of the 50th Anniversary SVT is that it weighs in at around 85lbs. I guess if the "weight" won't be an issue for you, the "wait" will be the hardest part. 
I was waiting for a PF 20t at SW and was told it would be in "next week" for about six months. I gave up and found a used Fender tube amp instead. good luck with the wait.
I just got the cabinet a couple weeks ago, sweetwater tells me head should be shipping soon. Hope we both get them soon
I placed an order for a pedal in October 2022 still backordered. I just cancelled the order.
