Meet my newest trainer. As a fighter he went undefeated for his first year but a broken hand robbed him of the glory that could have been his. Now well into retirement, I've got him training my babies. His eye for raw talent has been really invaluable in recruitment as well.

For those who don't know, that's Sally "Teriyaki" Sumo. Today marks the 15 year anniversary of one of the ugliest travesties in the sport....i'm shkagig tkinhing aobout itit...sorry...
15 years ago, Sally was a true wonder. She was the biggest, fastest, meanest, ugliest, and dirtiest fighter the game had ever seen. Even today, a version of her signature move is used by Asian-style fighters: The Sally Slam. But when Sally did it, she would grab her opponent by their right ankle and slam them back and forth, back and forth, until every breath of life was taken from her opponent. The move was very similar to Bam-Bam from the Flintstones...of course, everybody knew where she got it from because only television can teach kids violence...
Anyway, she was in the ring, about to do her move on Takatommy "The Big" when she snapped. She went after her mother...I don't need to go over that again...
After killing 19 people and Christopher Reeving 4, she collapsed on the floor. The autopsy showed she had severe "Kickahassahitis", a psychological disease the doctors had only read about in textbooks in Tibet.
Let us have a moment of silence in remembering one of "The Greats" of our sport...

I'm also entering my first mixed martial arts fighter. Don't comment on the pink scarf. The poor soul who took the picture did. This picture was taken a split second after baby ripped the man's still beating heart from his chest. I edited the picture to keep it family friendly...

For real, yo. Who could forget "The Metallic Envelope"! A true pioneer to the sport.
A little, but not much. It's a very crowded field and the entries from the Far East are usually more adept thanks to centuries-old training regimes. I'll include a few known moves that cross over and aid in the handling of some of the heavier fighters, but as I said, it's limited exposure.

I'm with mike on this one. I keep it pretty sparse. I've replaced sumo training with some new eastern techniques. I'm not going to reveal too much, but here's a climpse.
Indeed. My best fighter last year had a drinking problem. Really screwed up his chances.

I find this to be the biggest pitfall for athletes in this sport. Baby Fighters are without fail hard partiers. But some are wound too tight and are always just a loss or two from losing all their sham friends and crawling into a bottle. And not one with formula. That's how it happened with Cody "Killdozer" Caruthers.
Sad really. The loss that started his tailspin was really a miscarriage of justice when the fight went to the judges' cards. I'd never impugn the reputation of the California Baby Fighting Commision, but if there was ever a time where I questioned if a fight was fixed, it was that night.
I keep that photo in my office to remind me, and my fighters, of how things can go so wrong, so quickly.
sad story about my lil' bruno the big bruiser. the same month as when he was put on the cover of "from the cradle to the ring" magazine, came down with the worst case of chicken pox i've seen in years. had to be forced in early retirement. such a shame.
Here's my lil butt whooper. That's the blood of his enemies around his mouth. He celebrates their defeat by eating their still beating hearts while watching the life fade from there eyes.

That kid looks like he's 4 or 5...toddler fighting ranks up there with slavery, pit bull fighting, and watching Roseanne shower, for sport.
