You are right it is extremely versatile in every situation I've used it. I can't remember the weight exactly but I think just over 12lbs.That Europa is certainly beautiful, and no doubt sonically super-versatile that wood/electronic combo. But with all that Maple . . . what's she weigh?
Cool basses!!
This one is getting a refinish...in black! Also going on a diet, and getting the neck straight in the pocket etc.

Its got matching black tuning machines as well. Might have to get ultralights after the weight reduction, im hoping it doenst get neck dive!
Nice! Must be a Steve Harris fan huh?All mine. All black. Except for the new one. It's the ugly non dark stepchild.
So by 'diet' are you planning on routing under the pg? Having gone that 'route' to both lesser and greater degrees on a few basses, if it's only under the pg - you won't lose that much weight unless you really go deep, which is tricky considering the side/back contours. I'll guess no more than 1/2 lb so I wouldn't worry about neck dive as a result.
The luthier typically puts the body through a planer to get it 'flat' again. Then he basically chambers and drills larger diameter holes everywhere he can, then puts a cap over it, and paints it. He is shooting for 3/4 - 1 lb. It will also go from 1, 5/8" to 1, 1/2 or a smidge less. Im hopeful to get it closer to 9lbs or less when its done.
