Baer Amplification Megathread!

Bet the three of those together really sound great!

Very nice setup. Yeah I tried it on a stand too. It sounded And felt great at home, but in a band context it didn't work for me. I felt I was losing too much bottom end. Even when I try to goose the low-end it just didn't feel the same as it feels when it's on the floor.... Especially with my drummer slamming away 2 feet away from me.
The church sanctuary where I play is bass-heavy. I tried the horizontal orientation, tilted with an ampwedge and was still getting a bit much. Presently I'm using an Fdeck HP filter on the lowest setting with the Baer tilted back in the vertical orientation.
LMAO! seriously laughed out loud. Good one. Your cover "Filling". Ha! Enjoy! ...and remember it will loosen up, warm up and sweeten up after you get some gig time on those speakers.

Initial impressions:
* Tons more focus to the low end - I can boost bass and have it stay useable much longer.
* With slap stuff you could have told me there was a horn and I'd believe you.
* Stuff with the bridge pickup soloed has a much different feel to it.
* Solo neck pickup stuff is awesome.
* The B3K sounds better than it ever has.
* They seem much louder at the same master volume spot vs. my GS112 stack, but that's at home.
I'm still adjusting to them, and I haven't played them with a band yet, but I can tell I'm going to like them. I think a head with a little more character and oomph would really shine with these - the iAmp isn't a great fit for me, my bass, these cabs, or the kind of music I play.

I have never seen a bass like that. It looks KILLER! ...the Baer Stack is awesome of course as well!

I am off to play a four piece band gig tonight with a Single Baer ML112. It works fine with this band that plays; Maroon 5/Bruno Mars/Train/Police/Kings of Leon/Alex Clare/Michael Jackson/Usher etc. We play at pretty civilized volume levels. 
The probably seem louder due to the increased mids relative to the GS112. I always found the GS112 to be on the scooped side of things.
Wait until you get them into a band situation - that's when they shine. The other night at home I was running tunes and decided to take the cover off the Berg CN112 (the one I still have) and give it some playing time. And I did - and it sounded great. A bit more full/warm than the ML112. But then the next night I went to rehearsal and had a single Baer and was reminded why I play these cabinets. They are just perfect in a band situation. I think the last Berg in the house will be up for sale soon. The pair of Baers covers any/every gig that I can - which is a lot of ground these days.
As for a head, Puma 500 or 900 is perfect imho. Aggie TH500 is a good choice if you want a bit more mid hair/grunt, but Puma can cover that vibe fairly well.
For as big of an Aguilar fan as I've been (DB680, DB728, two AG500's, DB750, GS112, GS212, GS412) I've never been able to dig on the TH500. My ideal Aguilar head would have been something like the DB680's front end with the DB750's power section. The TH is more like the DB750's front end with the AG500's power section, and I always felt like the AG500 blew it away.
Right now I'm running the iAmp with the EQ bypassed and the B3k always on, so it's fine I guess. Valkyrie whenever I can get one, and that'll do it.

Have to agree on the iAmp. I had one for a very short time and it just didn't work for me. I felt it had zero personality and if I had to use one word to describe it, it would be "dry". I can see how some players like them, but I really prefer an amp that makes my bass come alive and I couldn't get that from the EA.

I agree with this 1000 percent. As I have stated in previous posts, this cab does shine way more in a band situation than just solo. Also it is an excellent match with the Puma 900.
Honestly I don't even bother tweaking my settings on my Puma when I set up for a gig. I start out flat, with the taste knob nudged to about 1:30, and then start sound checking with my drummer. At that point I'll tweak my 900 a bit more. And really that's it. Sometimes an extra tweak when the full band starts playing. But this cab really does kill in a band situation.
I've had many other cabs / combos that sound great on their own, but get lost in a band mix.
Played an outdoor covered patio gig last night at a local resort with my Maroon 5/Bruno Mars-ish cover band. We also do a little latin jazz and a few funky instrumentals. Mostly a listening crowd/social environment.
Rig: Orange BT500 / Single Baer ML112 / Nordstrand VJ5C ash/maple bass with Nordstrand Pre.
The Single Baer ML112 was superb! Alone, it buries my former Markbass CMD121p/NY121 stack (a Pair of 1x12 cabs!) ...and the Baer cuts Much better and retains its voice in the frequency space of the band dramatically better than the Markbass stack. I know I've said that before. But this was a new gig space and I am continually impressed with the performance of the Baer ML112. A pair of them would have been Way too much for this gig. Love the weight, the tone, ...everything!
