Baer Amplification Megathread!

Sooooo... just pulled the trigger, and ordered an ML112.

:hyper:

Nothing wrong with the tones I'm getting from my current rig, Shuttle 9.0 -> Epi 112 or Epi 210. But all the excitement over the ML112 here has made it impossible to not get one of these.

Nordy and Rob Allen basses seem to be well represented by this cab, so I'm feeling pretty good about this.

I liked my Epi 112, Epi 410, Berg 310, and Berg 210.........but, I love my Baer ML112.

My Callowhill has always sounded awesome, but since the Baer it's awesome tone is "highly AWESOMEIZED"!

I love the Shuttle 9.0 with my ML112's!

Yeah man... It smokes.

Especially through my STM900.

I did a video where I played all of my basses through the STM900 set flat, and the bass that got the most attention and comments was my 4003.

Check it out... Nothing fancy. Just playing "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac over and over again with pick and fingers... But the tones are clearly heard and everything sounds great, IMHO.

Playing the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park NYC tonite and the Puma 900 and the ML112 is killing it! I love the way open strings sound with this cab. Nice and thick with much sustain. Sweet!
Yeah I know Roger... Get another Ml112! Lol!

Sounds great! Man I miss my Ric! I had one many years ago back in 84. It was my first bass. I was young and stupid. Brought it to sam ash and traded it straight up for a Mexican Squire Jazz worth 200 dollars. Kills me to this day. It was a 78 Rickenbacker 4001. 15 yrs old and dumb.

Baer in L config,

per rpsands recommendation back in part three:

"Probably get better results turning the bottom of the "L" to the side."

I had to set up a bit in front of the drumset and this theater stage was quite active and boomy, especially where the drummer was sitting.

Yes, drummer was very happy and I did not notice any negative effect from where I was standing, other than the expected diminished spl directly in front of the cab. Not sure I would want to do it at every gig, but it did work well on this day.

OMG! Did the same thing here. Traded my 78 blonde Ric at Guitar Center for a POS wooden body Steinberger because Geddy was playing one. Still kick myself to this day for that deal!

Haha! Wow too funny. Yeah I had a black and white with the bad ass bridge because of Geddy Lee. Then I read he used his Jazz on Moving Pictures. At 15 yrs old I obviously couldn't afford a real Jazz, so I opted for the squire Jazz. The guy at Sam Ash must have been laughing his ass off on that trade. Oh well.

Has anyone tried the L stack with the midranges closest together (top cab upside down)?

I think the woofers are still close enough together to couple well & the mids have such good dispersion having the top mid right over the one in the bottom cabinet, I think you'd be surprised how well they sound.

I guess you'd want to put either a thin piece of foam between them or if you wanted to do it on a regular basis, you could put a set of feet on the top of one cab.

I'm imagining a dual ML115 with that setup [or a horizontal ML115 with a flipped vertical ML212 on top (3x6" stacked)].

For the latter rig, you'd need a 2 ohm capable amp (like the Valkyrie) or a two channel power section amp like the GB ShuttleMax 12.2 or preamp + stereo power amp rig, but OMG, what a rig!!!

Maybe Mr Baer has tried this...?
