Baer Amplification Megathread!

After lurking for more than a few years, meeting and talking with Roger and his wife at NAMM, and generally being lazy about getting around to it, I finally picked one up in trade over the weekend, an ML112 series II.
I intend to use it for my upright rig, paired with a Mesa Walkabout.

You know it is a great match for the Walkabout. I am curious to see an opinion on how it pairs with the Subway (also, a general comparison with the NV115).

I used a WT400/ML112 with an NXT EUB and thought it was a fantastic rig for it. I'm sure you will be very happy with the WA pairing.
I too am interested in the ML112/Subway pairing. I have my name on this amp at a local store that just arrived.

I hope he doesn't change it much, if that's true; it's quite good as it is.

Always really dug the cab myself as well, but it was never a big seller, as most players found it too big, heavy, awkward, etc... Simple truth is that todays players want their cabs to be as small and light as possible, so we are doing our best to come up with a design that will shave some size and weight of without loosing the bigger tone that came with the bigger box. Maybe we need to come up with some type of oragami cab that unfolds at the gig?

I dont mind a somewhat larger cab like the ML212.. Im 58 and not the best back, But even that cab wouldn't be an issue for me..

How about an inflatable cab? It could have a pull cord like a life raft.

Origami cabs would be innovative, for sure!

The ML212 is almost exactly the same size as a fEARFul 15/6/1; it doesn't weigh much more.
Some folks seem to like the fEARFul/Fearless stuff...
I don't find any of those, or, yours, difficult to move; fwiw

It is a little taller than my GK Neo 212, and, a little heavier, but, I like the taller format that gets sound up closer to my ears.

Clearly, I'm just one guy, and there are certainly plenty of other preferences and opinions.

I am going to throw it back and +1 this. There are a handful of cabs that would make me beyond happy to see on a stage as provided backline. Roger's are high on the list.

Four ML115's and a Valkyrie? Yes please.

I haven't done it, and I don't forsee "a need for it," but as soon as I find a 2 ohm ready head I like, and a gig big enough to warrant doing it, I'll thrwo an ML112 on top of the ML212 and enjoy the heck out of that.

How does teh overall tonal pallette compare to a fearful? I dont need all the super lows that the Fearful has.. Its nice but I could do with less.. Are there low mids and mid mids in the Baer smooth> etc...
I saw another pre owned ML212 on tb Classifieds.

No one has Baer in the DFW or Austin area.. Do the ML115s sound anything like the Berg NV115s?

It doesn't have "the super lows" that can be very nice sometimes, and, semi-problem sometimes.
The 212 is a little fatter than my 2xML112; but either can take a little low eq and feel fat in a good way.
with no horn, it manages to go almost as high, but without "harsh." I'm a round wounds guy, and it totally represents.
mids and low mids are excellent.

I am going to check out the Subway today or tomorrow for a lightweight 2 ohm option to my WT800.
I used the WT800 bridged into one ML112 last night (1 guitar, keys and drums too) and it was much better in the mix than my Streamliner. Wound up with the master on 1. ( as in 1 out of 10. Not one o'clock.) It sounded awesome. If I dig the Subway, I may sell the Stl.
