Does anyone in this thread have experience with pushing two BE 115's with a 50W tube amp? If so, how well did it work for you? Have an opportunity to trade something for a 65 Amps Apollo head.

40 watt tube head through a 2x12 is pretty epic. Having owned a S12 and S15 and knowing how similarly the act... I'd have no worries.
The Bag End 15s are super efficient at 103dB 1W/1m. A pair should get pretty darn loud with 50W.
they’re fantastic with small tube heads. Of course a lot depends on your expectations and applications.
I dont have expectations I guess cause I've never played any amp lower than maybe 300w solid stae and never really had experience with a full tube amp. I'm covered for any situation really have more gear than I should anyway. I'm gravitating towards tubes as if late but will not go large scale, don't want to carry them. I was hoping that this would get me through a small venue with PA but all drummers I play with are pretty heavy handed. So far all studio I do ends up DI with my REDDI and/or Oracle. Mostly worried I'll end up with a nice coffee table with tubes in it but no good real world use.
My plus in this situation is my beloved Bag Ends. I can't get over how great these cabs are and feel the little tube head would just sound wonderful through them.
that apollo looks interesting. ill bet it punches well above its weight class. it really all depends on the drummer! if they start feeling loose in the second set and you’re already at the distortion ceiling then yea, theres not much you can do. or you could be right there in the sweet spot grooving along in tone nirvana!
I went ahead and got it. This thing sounds amazing to my ear, really creamy with punch and a warm, clear, bouncy feel - suits the genres that I play really well. It is actually louder that I thought it would be too.

I didn't even realize they made monitors! Are those the powered ones or other? I've been wanting new speakers for my IMac and haven't yet found what I wanted. Hmmmmmm..

Here is my new amp trying out BagEnds. It is louder than I expected, should be gigable for me on alot of things.
@James Hart , give us more details on the new drivers. The ports on your new cabinet look significantly larger in diameter. Very interesting!
I'm waiting to hear back from Jim. I was shocked to see the frame is nearly a cylinder... I should have pressed him when he was on the phone.
I stacked them, chained them, played them about 2 hours... 4 vs 2, stacked vs single cab, etc... everything was too different to say. The rig on a whole is just 'wow' right now. I will try to evaluate the differences for next weekend.
