I recently found a pair of used S15L-N's for sale and ordered them, should be coming in next week sometime. I'm crossing my fingers they are not trashed. Looking at the specs, it's showing 300~600w rating at 8ohms. Since I'm planning to run these through an amp rated with 700w at 4ohms, is there any issues pushing past the 300w rating? Not that I'm planning to push this volume, I was more worried about mismatching amp to cab power ratings.
You will be fine with that amp. I used to run the same pair of 15Ls with a DB750 and it was glorious. Believe me, that pair can take more than the amp will give out, just use your ears as a guide.
I have to +1 on this. I also used mine with a DB751 with great success. Below is this weekend this time with a WD800, also a great match. Just don't try to be unrealistic with volume, I think they are louder than I'll ever need.
2021 Rig is complete. Got less than $300 into both cabinets. Man they sound good. Big synergy and whump with two S-15.
Anyone know how old are Bag End cabinets that are in black vs the purple or red covering? I've found a few that are decently priced used.
Identical boxes and drivers... in the mid/late 90s the "Deep Red" and coax option replaced the black ones
30 years ago... AMP BH-250 and a S15-B. That winter I added a Black S12-C (for carpet) and a set of corners for the S15-B. The Carvin LB75 was strung EADGB with Rotosound Funkmasters and a single 0.025

I just received my Bag End cabs today, pair of S15L-N's in pretty good condition. With the tough paint, I had worried of them shipping across the USA, but they came in nice and clean.
Playing the cabs, they sound so deep and I can't say if it's just from having two 15's or is it the Bag End design. My other cab is a Mesa 112 and 115, so technically it's not a huge jump in size but the Bag End is way more deeper in bass. Playing a five string it just sounds right.
I'll have to give this a longer trial, it's late and I can't crank it up at home but so far it's eye-opening how Bag End sounds.

Congratulations on the purchase, I had my eye on that pair, but opted to buy new for various reasons and I am still waiting...
I ran that same pair with a DB750 and then a TH500, just wait until you hear it in the band context. It is how a bass should sound, IMHO. Thick, articulate and present.

With a solid low end that's not overhyped! My favorite part.
I was planning to buy new but my budget was limited at the pricing for the 12's. I just happen to be browsing around and found this pair from Guitar Center. I honestly wasn't looking for 15's, took a chance with the item and if it wasn't what I was looking for, the return policy was good. If I can flip some of my current cabs, I would like to pick up a oiled finished 2x12 as they look amazing.

Another thing I forgot to add to the last post: obviously the tone is great, but I can’t believe how LOUD these cabs are. I’ve read about the efficiency of these, but it’s another thing to experience. My amps have to work much less hard 
Jonesing for my new pair of S15L-Ns to be delivered, so here I am reminiscing about my old pair of S15L-Ds that have since been sold.
Well they sound great! I got them for nothing because of some minor water damage — a centimeter of storm water wicked up into the deep red carpeting, and there was some yellow mold. I got them from a TB’er the day after the storm, and cleaned them up with alternating rounds of vinegar and other cleaners. I got them looking very good and set them to air out for a month, but they were still unfortunately musty.
Last week I pulled the carpeting off and did another quick round of cleaning amd they’re now all good! The only thing now is to decide on whether to take the drivers out and refinish the plywood with a sander or to go some kind of bed liner route, or simply throw a few coats of black paint on!
Looks like they spray the edges at the input panel and handles black at the factory. Probably for two reasons — better adhesion there and so no light wood shows at any slight gaps in the carpeting.
I have two S15D’s and could make two rigs as you have! But using the smaller boxes as a gigging pair is perfect for me. The Big Dogs are a bit much since I bring the PA, which sometimes means those TA15’s.
So the plan is to use them at home.
I have a large recording Studio/Rehearsal space and my current thinking for their use will be as bottoms for a stereo PA setup — Keys, Vocals, my Turntables, and as a powerhouse monitor system for my computer DAW rig when I demo mixdowns. The TA12 jr’s can be the tops, easily pulled for use on smaller gigs.
I’d love to hear some feedback on which way to go with the refinishing.
