Hey all, hope everyone is doing well!

Since my last post I made a little change to my bass rig. Kept the Bag End’s of course but now running the D10BX-D’s from an EA iamp pro. I’ve never heard my basses with such clarity in all my life! Such a shame they couldn’t weather the Covid storm and ended up folding the business a few years ago. This is the most transparent amp I have ever played through…the whole rig seems so complimentary (for what I like at least).

I’m also running a new Bag End FOH system for our theatre shows. Ordered March 2025 and it arrived in July 2025 ready for shows starting in August. The system is incredible, superb clarity across the range (like studio monitors on steroids).
I went for the double 18” infra sub cabinets and the new CDS115 tops. I am seriously impressed with what this system puts out…not just SPL but even tonal balance with great dispersion.

Any of you guys running sound as well? Have you used/do you use B.E gear?

I will someday own a pair of TA1202-B and/or TA1202-BF but just for me, my family, and the neighbors to hear


I'll hopefully be jamming with some folks shortly (acid jazz / fusion / prog trio type thing)... so I'm hooking up both cabinets again when I practice later. My potential new guitarist plays through (according to the drummer), a small amp with 2 speakers (Fender Twin Reverb) or a big one with 4 speakers (100 watt half stack). I'll be bringing both cabs just in case

I know stacked makes more sense, but this is how I'm setting up my practice area (I think) for now... still trying to revamp my home set up for ease of bass gear load in/out and ease of access to bass, guitar, drums, acoustics, work desk, etc... then I need to empty it for painting this spring.

Two are definitely better than one, the kid was using my older one for her starter rig... until she wasn't She is all about drawing on iPad this month and the last 2. So it is nice to have them both again... I think I'm going to get her an S15 of some flavor in birch.

Question for the Club here;

Anybody ever sent a speaker back to Bag End for repair?

I've got one... a 8 ohm ZE-10 that came out of my little S10-D cabinet. I got a little happy on a gig one night a couple years ago and damaged it... all my fault. I found a secondhand replacement (at the time there were no correct replacements available) and installed it, life went on with lessonsl earned. I still have the one I assume is kaput.

It jumps and pops with a 9v battery test, but when played through the low-end is just fuzzy. Looking at the cone, there is a bit of a crease in the rim. I can't see a tear.

Can they, will they fix these? It looks like they have replacement speakers now, or something comparable. I'd just like to keep it for a spare.

Got mine used. I actually buy all my gear used. There's so much of it floating around, there's a bass rig, three guitar rigs and two and a half drum kits for every person in the Western hemisphere.

Got my S15LX-D on Craigslist and the S12-D that sits on top of it here on TalkBass. Under $500 for the two if I am remembering correctly. As Count Bassie indicates, Bag Ends are out there to be enjoyed.

Directly from Bag End…if you’re looking for new… but as mentioned there’s plenty of great gear used online these days.

I buy direct as well... my first 2 in the 90s were from Manny's or Rudy's in NYC (too many years and second guessing myself on which it was... definitely from 48th street NYC) and the Long & McQuade that was in Parsippany, NJ

I guess I haven't posted this. Q10BX-D, 800w @8 ohms. A Mesa TT-800 sounds really nice going through it.

90 lbs. No problem, well worth the carry up and down the steps.
