Bag End Stack in the House!

Same here... had and loved an S12 + S15 stack for years. I actually sold off my gear for a couple year break from music and in coming back jumped through a few 'buzz' brands before playing some BE stuff and remembering how awesome they are. I instantly contacted BE and ended up going with my D12... and other than a couple more BE cabs, I am now cab GAS free :D

James, that is a classy combo. I love that the head fits the cab width. I had a D12 w/ a coax for a while but I was too old to lift it:D I am waiting delivery on an Ampeg V4BH to sit up top of mine. It's going to sound better than it looks!

When I demo'ed the Streamliner a while back, my S15D stack immediately came to mind as being the perfect compliment to tame the low end and bring back the mids, so no doubt you guys are getting some killer tones!

Anyone using an S15 stack with a Walkabout? I think I have some slow GAS forming for that one... and also the Fusion MB800 when it arrives later this year. :)

emblymouse,

You should like that incoming V4BH with your Bag End combo a lot.

From younger years than now, and yeah, the head looks out of sorts on top.

Yes, that is my current rig and I love it. The Walkabout sounds great w/ everything I've pair it with though:bassist: Most notably 2 Schroeder 15L+'s. That combo was so damn tight. The Mesa tamed the super mids of those Schroes. But I digress... back to BE!
Thanks for the Ampeg shot in the arm, it will take a lot to top the Walkabout/S15 combo. I think it will arrive TH.:hyper:

Emblymouse just posted a pic of that combo (1 S15). Wish he could comment on the tone, but something inside me says this could be the warmest tone ever, so same here: GASing for a WA.
I use my BagEnd S15-D (alone or paired with a S15LX-D) with a markbass LMIII. I love that head. Would really want to try a Streamliner someday...
GAS never stops, some really interesting speakers out there but my BagEnds are here to stay!!!

Just finished my new rig. GB Shuttle 9 with an S12-B and an S15-B. Played it at home for a little bit so far. S12-B was the final piece.

Rehearse early next week for maiden voyage out next Friday.

Have a limited ed. 60th Anniversary P and a Chinese 3/4 with w/ Realist, switching back and forth with a ToneBone.

Will post a pic of the BE stack for good measure later.

edit: first post BTW.

My S15X-D and S10X-D stack.

The coax 10 is different from any others I've seen in that it's sealed. Haven't heard a ported one so I don't know which would sound "better", I do know the two of these together perform way beyond their diminuitive size.

I also (still) have a shallow D10X-D, S15D and S10D. Looking for an E-10 for the single 10 cab.

I have played my Streamliner through my D10x-d, S12-d+s15-d, and S15-d+S15x-d, and it sounded great through all these. Great combination. Brought out more lows in the cabs, more than my Little Mark III head.

I've been playing a Peavey Tour 450 head through a S15-D and loving the tone, but I'm wanting to add another one before my gig next Sunday.

Anyone know of a Bag End dealer in the Dallas area who might have one in stock?

Anyone in the Dallas area want to sell me one? ;)

There's a used one on Guitar Center's site stock number 107143955 marked down to $269.99.

The beauty of buying used gear from GC, even online or over the phone is that if you don't like the item, you can return it to your local GC for a full refund (minus shipping charges...but I've found those to be rather reasonable).

I can't find one with that stock number, but there's one at the central Dallas location for $299.99. Unfortunately, it won't let me purchase online?

I'll have to phone them and drive over today. Thanks BillyB!

Nobody snake it!

Boom! My live rig of choice (when I get PA support). Without a PA it's still pretty much the same thing, just no REDDI.

Let's see, that's an Empress ParaEQ going into a REDDI going into a GB Streamliner 900 going into a Bag End S15XD on top of an S15D.

Score!

Phoned central Dallas GC right after they opened and talked to Chad. He agreed to hold it for me until I got there an hour later. Good thing I called, he said four people tried to buy it in that hour. Chad's a great guy, bass player, fun to talk to. Good saleman, too. He almost had me buying a bunch more stuff...

$300 in dead mint condition.

Got it home and hooked it up. Dear me, what a difference between 300 watts into 1 S15 and 450 watts into 2 S15s! More low end, waaaay more perceived loudness with gain and volume at noon.

The new one is on the bottom. Smaller logo than my old, ratty one. Same great sound.

That rig is all kinds of awesome.
