Band 'Tinder'

I've never used Tinder, so for the purposes of this discussion, swipe left is reject.

Under 20... Swipe left
Under 10 gigs... Swipe left
Country music... Swipe left, and the next band too to be safe
We are very committed and will definitely get a record deal... Swipe left
We have an EP out and need you to learn all the songs by Tuesday... Swipe left
Photo with adults wearing shorts... Swipe left
Photo looks like it was taken after the band had cleared out the garage... Swipe left
Metal... Swipe left
Cool jazz... Swipe left, have a drink, shudder
Band has eleventy horn players... Swipe left
Top 40 covers band... Swipe left
Band obviously run by megalomaniac who would probably actually want to be despot of a small country... Swipe left.
There's such a difference between the real deal and a fantasy.

"Dance band"
"song list includes Can't You See"
"must be fully committed to this band. No hired guns. Must rehearse weekly"
All of these are a hard swipe left, even more so if the ad replaces the S with a dollar sign somewhere in the ad. 'Cause I know nobody's making money at this.

This great opportunity just showed up on CL...

Working band with many regular and recurring paying gigs scheduled throughout the next year seeking bass player. You will be provided a complete master list of all the songs we play well beforehand to start preparing, and a set list a few days before each gig (based on what we mutually know until you are fully caught up). We will rehearse weekly as long as reasonably necessary to maintain a high standard of quality. Once things are running smooth, we will also periodically rehearse to try out new songs, arrangements, work out vocal harmonies, mashups, endings/outros on songs that fade out, etc…

Swipe right.
