Rush I would say, because they kind of faded from the public eye in the 90s and then almost broke up when Peart's family tragedies hit, but then with the documentary and Clockwork Angels and I love You Man they were back in the spotlight again.
But the fact is that Rush has had a solid fan base since the late 70s and never had any problem selling records and tickets even when the radio industry were ignoring them.

Yeah, Black Sabbath when they first started out had their first golden age (with albums like Paranoid), then they slowly stagnated and sort of faded away... Until Dio joined, and they had another one with Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules. And then again they sort of faded away during the 90s, until Ozzy joined up with them again.

Anyway, hope you guys are aware of Santana IV…recently released. This month's Bass Player has Benny Rietveld (also the bassist on "Smooth") talking about it.

The Doobie Brothers had a string of hits in the '70's then fizzled out until the late '80's when the original lineup (most of them) put out a hit CD that included the song The Doctor. That led to a couple more CDs and tours.
not sure if it qualifies, but john fogerty was huge fronting ccr. took several years off due to legal issues, etc., and then had some monster hits as a solo artist.
