Bands That Had 2 (or more) Golden Ages

Bands that had huge popularity and, for a multitude of possible reasons, faded away and then had massive comebacks in popularity.

I can think of a couple off the top of my head:

Red Hot Chili Peppers, with their original climb up to 'Under The Bridge' era. Had a massive resurgence in the time of Californication and By The Way.

Aerosmith, Walk This Way era then a long drought but a big comeback in the 90's.

I could make a case for the Rolling Stones though I know they always sold a fair amount due to their initial worldwide success. But came back in '77/'78 with Some Girls. Again around the time of Start Me Up.

Van Der Graaf Generator. Had 3 "classic" albums out, broke up for a few years, then came back to release 3 more "classics" of their discography in the second half of the 70s.

Santana. Nearly 30 years elapsed between Abraxas and Supernatural. Well ok maybe Supernatural wasn't technically a 2nd golden age, in the sense that it was a massive standalone success. But still.

Santana has to have the record for that. Nearly off the radar for a couple decades and then suddenly every hot artist on the planet wanted to work with him.

The Allman Brothers weren't as big during the 80s but hit it big with again Back Where it All Bagan.

Fleetwood Mac, Green/Spencer(/Kirwan) era, then the Perfect/Buckingham/Nicks phase that projected them into superstardom. I still know very little of the intermediate, Welch/Weston(/Walker) age, but I hear it didn't suck either.

Yeah Fleetwood Mac got to win this hands down. Two different golden ages, on two different continents, with different singers and frontman and women, in two completely different genres of music.

Not to mention the in between which featured a different guy and didn't sound like the other two. Like you said that era didn't suck either.

I'm a Who fan. I think you could argue for:

Golden Age 1: 1965 - 1967 The Mod Age

That all came to a halt by the time of "Magic Bus"

Golden Age 2: 1969 Tommy

But then Lifehouse...

Golden Age 3: 1971 - 1974 Arena Rockers

Cat Stevens = Yusuf Islam. About 25 year hiatus.


Singers:
Tony Bennett - Duets albums huge sales.
Tom Jones - comeback with Kiss (Prince tune).
Tina Turner. 60's era, then Max Max soundtrack & Simply The Best.

a span of 4 years does not meet the OP criteria....and not just because I am not a fan.

Deep Purple meets this I believe with the original 68-70 -then in 1984 with the release of Perfect Strangers....

Frank Sinatra, I suppose, from his time with Harry James/bobby soxers era to the Nelson Riddle era, to the years before his death. I've never been a fan of his later stuff, but I like his work with Harry James.
