Not really. Nice amp for sure but, felt a little stiff to me. Gkmbf800 felt better but, I don't like their eq and baked in voice. I know the new magellan will be more what I want but, no 2 ohm operation. My rack rig kills but, after every gig I am reminded by how heavy it is compared to my cabs. I'm an athletically built guy but, I've got autoimmune inflammation issues and last night's gig has got me gimped up today. Every little bit helps with smaller, lighter gear. Why have 30lb cabs and a 65lb rack? This North country winter weather puts your priorities in line really fast too! Can't wait to hear these cabs.
Let me know what you think of the Two10's. There are so many great cabinets in the BF lineup, and each has its own niche. So those are 4 ohm cabs? I'll probably never hear a side-by-side, but I'd be curious how the Two10 compares to the BB2 in tone and characteristics. They both weight 29 pounds.The BB2 is an 8 ohm cab though, so the Two10 might seem to put out more, I dunno.
I have had the thought that having a 2nd One10 would be nice just so that they'll be running at 4 ohms instead of the 8ohms that one runs on. But until I find out what the limits are to this amp (and the BB2 I recently acquired) there's no point fantasizing about more BF cabs. It would be cool, but just doesn't seem necessary. With these 2, I have "small" and "big" covered for the most part.
Ever thought about slaving one micro to another? That would have to be lighter than your rack.
Subbed - I'll bet this 310 mini stack will be a potent tone machine.I tried out my newly acquired One 10 last night. I loved it so much I ordered a Two 10 this morning. I'm going to stack them and put my Mesa Subway on top. December 23rd can't come soon enough!!!!
Well, nice thing too about such a set-up is that you can just play through a the One10 for rehearsal, at home, or for smaller gigs; two ten for slightly larger; Two10+One10 for larger yer. So it's completely modular, as map34157 has pointed out before. You can cover any type of gig with that set-up, with all your options for combining. Like. I have the One10 and find it'll do a lot more than you might suppose.
Heard a Big Baby2 the other day. They had a 110 as well. I am blown away. Really blown away. I am selling stuff to get a BB2 and a 110. The search is OVER.
If that's as loud as you are all saying, that 3x10 rig looks like it stacks up against many larger cabs.
Really modular, 110 for smallest stuff, 210 for larger, and add 310 for bigger things... Very very cool. I'm jealous.
Zactly what I have. One10 for small-ish gigs, BB2 for everything else. if I were playing stadiums I'd get another BB2, I suppose. Surprising how mush tight, fat (but not boomy or muddy) room-shaking low end you can get form both of those cabs. I have an SVT 4 Pro amp I'd like to sell to help pay for 'em, though. Expensive, but worth every penny, I think.
Hearing these cabs was revaltory. I'm selling stuff that I never really thought I'd sell just to get these cabs. Worth it.
Got the pair of two10 cabs, 4 ohms each. I'm breaking them in and they sound really good, especially run as a pair stacked horizontally. When you turn up the upper kids and treble, they really have a nice grind. Very much like if you could have a brand new vintage ampeg 810. Definitely more my sound than my supertwin, and I love that cab. Definitely getting better as they break in. There are only two drawbacks for me. 1) it breaks my single cab rule for gigs and 2)none of the light weight amps that I'm considering can push 2 ohms and I've never had a great outcome running cabs in series. We'll see. The covers are awsome, by the way.
Can you try a Walkabout at 2 ohms? Not "recommended" but works in practice based on my experience and others here on tb
If it came with about 400 or 500 more Watts...
Taking a cue from an earlier post by LowNote, I bought a Latin Percussion LP524-UT Ultra-Tek cajon bag. The One10, plus a GK MB200 head, wireless rig, cables, etc., fit easily into the bag. So - great sound - and two-handed carry.
I just read this whole thread. How do you do that and not get all Jonesed up about this little cab? My experience with the SuperTwin tells me they do exactly what y'all are saying they do.
