I agree with JX. It sounds and feels like a much bigger cab due to the coloration/tuning and nice punch, but true cone grind (distortion as the driver reaches its' mechanical limits) isn't part of that, at least at the reasonable volumes I have played it at, which are far louder than one would need if the other stringed instruments were not amp'ed, .

Thanks again guys. Very helpful. And yes, Erik's posts have been great too. My Puma is a Powersoft too, so that's great to hear JxB. Fingers crossed the price doesn't go up too much (I hate buying new gear as it is, but these aren't gonna be showing up here anytime soon, I suspect).

Any thoughts on how it would pair with a MAS110 sub anyone? If not that, anyone tried the One10 with a non-BF cab? If so, what did you pair it with and how did it work out?

I found the Super Midget had some similarities and pairs well with the Hathor 1203 in certain Hathor switch settings (bump the mids, roll off the highs). I could see the 110 and the Hathor 1203 possibly doing well together. I've not played the 110 yet, so I can't verify. I'm only pointing this out because it sounds like the Super Midget might pair well with the 110 based on some of the above comments. I think their output levels might be pretty comparable, though I think the Hathor might be a touch louder and handle a bit more wattage.

The 'high' control on my Puma centers around 8Khz (at least that's what the manual tells me) but in combination with the One10, it doesn't really seem to do anything. I don't miss it, but it struck me that there was no noise whatsoever coming from the One10 where my Vanderkley 212LNT (with tweeter) always has a (pretty much inaubible) hiss.

From the manual:
8 HI The "HI" control is centred at 8 kHz and offers a cut or boost of 15 dB. Turn it up for a biting, crystal clear rock or funk bass. Turn it counter clockwise to reduce hiss or generally dampen the sound for a muted reggae feel.

I'm not sure how he achieves his breakup as there's no info on his settings, I don't have any breakup at volumes louder than his. My guess is that it's due to an active bass and pedals, not the One10. The clean tones are more representative of what I get. I mostly get a very nice tubey sound using my Puma. From 0:57 to 1:07 and 7:20 to 7:50 are closest to what I hear.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! We have two Barefaced cabs in for review. They are not going to be in the issue which is being printed as I type, but if all goes well, they will be in our Winter issue. :thumbsup:

For comparison I put the One10 next to my Lull 5 and then also included the GB 3-10T combo. This little box really pushes the envelope of low end rump and volume to box size/weight. I never thought a One10 could be of any use with any drummer not playing brushes, but in a small setting with a reasonable drummer I would be happy with this cab and either my TH350 or Shuttle 3.0. I'll bet 2 of these boxes would be enough for a medium sized bar without PA in a reasonable rock setting. WOW, just WOW. They are lunch box light and really bring a full bass tone. I am thoroughly satisfied.

I've been looking at adding a smaller cab to my quiver and Barefaced is at the front of the pack. I'm kinda stuck between a BB2, a Retro Two10, or a pair of the one10's.

Can anybody comment on how the one10's actually sound, and what kind of gigs they would be able to cover?

I'm in a loudish rock band with a fairly bass heavy mix. I run a J, a P, a Stingray, and a few other basses. I'll use a Monique/Crest ProLite or an Ampeg SVT II. I've been very happy with a CN212 for the last few years and don't really plan on getting rid of it, bur using that for the medium/large gigs and the new cab for the smaller stuff.
