Bartolini NTMB+ into Lakland 4401 - not working.

Hi all, I have a 4401 and I'm trying to upgrade the preamp to the Bart NTMB. So when finally rec'd, I looked at the existing wiring, and saw it had way many more wires than the Bart install. Bart support said I needed a 25k ohm volume pot, got one. Connected all the wires per their diagram (page 1):

Should be straight forward but - no sound. I'm getting signal from the amp to the volume control, but no pickup. These are stock Mk1's, two wire, lead and ground.
What am I missing ? This should not be a difficult install.

TIA for any help or suggestions,
Scott

Thanks, I'll look at that today, I don't recall seeing a white wire inside either of the red-green pickup leads, but maybe. If so, where/how do they connect ? Again, the diagram doesn't show more than the pos and neg.
Will report back.

Bare wire is the ground (or neg.), white ones are the hot (pos.). The other ground wire is also to connect any ground point.

Bingo! You are all the best! Shocked I was to find the white wire in the middle of the shield. Separated them out and rewired it, grounds everywhere! Oy! and yes it works perfectly, thanks for the enlightenment!
(off to find a proper 25K ohm pot with a 6mm shaft and a 250k ohm for the blend)
