Bass amps

SVT & the Fridge not good enough? How about a 5 watt headphone amp and a $4 dollar set of ear buds?? I’d be perfectly comfortable with what you are providing. More than comfortable. In fact, I’d be overjoyed!

It’s not like these guys have to move it, but I get it when guys get their sound/rig dialed in, especially if they are used to using an amp with a baked in sound, they want to keep what they have. It’s a lot easier to use what they have as opposed to finding their sound on something else, especially if you are charging them for studio time while the are searching.

Not an SVT. It's the solid state "SVT" 350 model which is a B2R is disguise.

I run a fully equipped hourly rehearsal room, the back line we provide is a variety of high end tube amps and v30 cabinets for guitars, the drums are All maple shells w zildjian A custom cymbals, strong Jbl and EV PA w. Beta 58 mics.... the room is treated and sounds great! Clients take notice and are happy with what’s in the room for their rehearsals... However, when some bands return to the studio all to often the bass player is bringing a rig of their own. I’m aware the house bass rig is not satisfactory for some bassists and I want to correct this! Current set up is a ampeg classic 8x10 and svt 350 head.... bassists, what rig would you like to have available for you at rehearsals? Your input is greatly appreciated and will help me determine what gear to go with.... thanks!
I dig what you've got going and that fact that you're asking but, unless you're trying to justify a new bass amp purchase to your wife :D I'd just run what you have and let the ones that bring heads bring heads,
unless there's something in the hourly rental agreement that you'll provide any amp that is wished for or dreamed of :)

But since you're askin'...

If I came to a rental space and they had an SVT 810 I'd want an Ampeg head . The PF-800 has more than enough headroom and has the Ampeg sound , much better amp than the SVT350 and doesn't cost a ton . Mine has been dead reliable for years now . The pre is very similar to the SVT .

Personally, I’d rather have my Eden gear. I can get pretty close with my WTDI run into the effects input of the amp of the day. As for recording, I usually run direct to the board with a flat signal.
