This is what I had in mind. I didn't want OP to feel self-conscious because someone inadvertently diminished the quality or value of his bass of choice, so I was only trying to remind him that people often don't know what they're talking about gear-wise. That's it, pure and simple.

What started as an attempt to ease the mind of a fellow TB'er turned into a crucifixion over the term "pea brain." Sheesh.

BTW, got plenty of sammiches on the homefront, every night. But thanks for the concern.

I remember When I got My squier seven styring I was telling My friends dad about it,and I said:
"it's a squier"
"what Kind of piece of **** guitar is that?"
"nah I'm just kidding it's a fender."
"oh sick,man"
if youre not a musician,chances are all you know is "fender is for RaWx"

You're chatting her up and rather than just say, "What do you play?", she makes an effort to let you know that she knows at least something about your chosen instrument. She was probably playing the odds. Name a base that is more ubiquitous than either a P or a J (or their clones).

Maybe she doesn't like Warwicks. I don't like Warwicks. Did you ask her what she played?

This girl think Warwicks are sexy as heck...I'da stuck around. I've fondled them, but they're too heavy for me to consider playing :-(

Don't even say you play a squier,all you'll get from that experience is an insult.just say you play a cheap fender.:D needless to say,when you say squier,unless their a musician,you might as well have said you play a log that you put strings onto.I don't even bother telling People my bass is an off brand precision.I say johnson and just make it sound like a custom shop instrument ;)
