Bass Chorus trek...

Anyone tried the new Walrus Fundamental Chorus? This has a very short bass segment, with a great Michael Jackson riff, but it seems like a just what you need kind of pedal. All the modes sound great on guitar and I like the short segment of bass tone.

Thx for posting this, it's been added to the list. Refreshing to see the interface being given some attention, I like the way it's laid-out.

I got the Mosky chorus in the mail the other day and I don't know how I feel about it. It's very noisy on an isolated power supply and the "blend" control seems to function more like a master volume control. It doesn't seem to lose any low end, and the controls allow for a wide range of tones, but the noise and whole blend = volume thing mean I'm just going to return it.

I might try out that new Walrus Audio Fundamental!

Blue Ocean. Price is just too good to be true. Simply too noisy for my liking.

I might try out that new Walrus Audio Fundamental!

I've read about this one a bit, and it seems like the Blend is a level control for the effected tone, while the "Intense" switch makes it into a vibrato (ie- no clean mixed in). So if you have the Intense engaged, the Blend will function as a master volume. Just the way I read it from a few discussions.

Either way, it doesn't work as a blend. It's just a wet control. And that's pretty useless without a master volume or dry control as well.

Unfortunately neither a blend or master volume are that common on analog chorus pedals, but I think having some control over the strength of the chorus blend is useful alongside the traditional "depth" control. Is there a volume drop with the vibrato switch engaged and the "blend" all the way up?

No volume drop. With the blend all the way counterclockwise, it's unity gain. Anything above that is over unity. Not a useful control at all.

Is it above unity in the non-vibrato setting as well? I'm curious where they copied this chorus circuit from!

My Tech21 Bass Boost Chorus (all blue) came in earlier this PM. I owned the previous Aqua-ish version and I don't recall it being that good, man this pedal doesn't have a bad sound in it.

A TC Electronics 3rd Dimension should come in the next few days... Always been curious about that one, with those switches instead of knobs...

My buddy who runs a recording studio out of his house has the larger rackmount version of the TC Roland Dimension clone in his rack of processor goodies and it sounds great with bass in my experience. I haven’t tried the pedal version to compare

Was not familiar with TC rackss, so I just did a quick research: I'm seeing both the M100 and M350 have mix knobs, so chances are they sound good on bass indeed. Is that the unit your buddy has ?

Ah I just realized the Dimension D rack clone is under the Klark Teknik brand vs TC Electronic. Same umbrella company under Behringer, etc!

TC Electronic 3rd Dimension came in yesterday. First impression is good, definite impression will be forged after about a week of use and 1 band rehearsal. It honestly sounds good on all settings and combinations, but the one that sticks the most is when switches 2 and 4 are engaged simultaneously. Great sound, not much low-end loss, if any. Surprisingly good non-bass dedicated analog chorus at a very decent price !

My bass chorus pedal trek has me buying 4 chorus pedals in the last month, after using the EHX Bass Clone for about a year. The last one purchased is currently on the board and I'm still keeping the others on rotation, until I finally decide the "permanent" one. There are still a few I'd like to try out (EHX Eddy, Ibanez CS-9, Ampeg Liquifier and maybe a Keeley Seafoam and a TrueTone H2o liquid chorus, in small encasing), but I'm waiting for them to pop up on the used market at a good price and that may take a while.

Bit of a surprise this morning with the 3rd Dimension. I play in an 80s cover band (Journey, Loverboy, Bon Jovi, Foreigner, The Cult....) and while preparing for today's rehearsal (ultimately cancelled), I left it on by accident for songs it's not supposed to be on and hola.... with Switch 1 engaged, the chorus effect is subtly noticeable, but the dimension flavor does makes the bass feel a sensibly larger. There is no crossover or mix knob on this pedal, so the effect goes on all frequencies, but there I'm still hearing a good foundation when Switch 1 is ON (and still OK when Switch 2 is added). If I makes this one a more permanent choice, I'll see if I can have it modded to preserve the low-end better and if this works out, this is going to be a very chorus for bass !
