bass fake to get chicks.

So I met this guy (lets call him john). Anyway we were hanging out at his house and saw this squier and amp sitting in the corner of his living room.

I said "I didn't know you play bass, maybe we can jam some time"

to wich he responds, "oh I don't play bass."

so of coarse I asked why he had a set up.

his response, "well I picked it up at a garage sell for 80 bux, and I just keep it in the living room to impress girls when they come over."

me - "what if they ask you to play for them."

him - "I usually make up an excuse such as the neighbors complain."

now is it just me or does this just make to much sense.

I can understand where is coming from. Playing bass does get you chicks.... Normally the fat, desperate ones IME!

Maybe flashing the 80 bucks and then being able to DO something with it would impress the ladies a bit more. I have been with one lady for a long time..nothing like cash to make em dash! I've had Vettes, Porsches...rode Harley's..raced motorcycles. Chicks want the stability and ability to have, see, use and replenish cash! All else has no meaning.

Offer to teach him how to play. It's how Lemmy started out. Otherwise, either steal the bass and amp or burn them, because he doesn't deserve to own them.

I offered to teach him a couple simple riffs (which is about half of what I know ba dam ching) but he didn't seem interested.

as far as stealing his "gear" not worth it. the bass maybe but when I played through the amp omg it was nothing but static.

Bass actually seems to work pretty well for me... people still always question why I own an acoustic guitar though. Easy answer: I tune it to an open chord, write some sappy sensitive lyrics, play a three chord song that requires only barring, and voila. Chicks.

Its easier and more effective than a slap bass solo.
