bass fake to get chicks.

So I met this guy (lets call him john). Anyway we were hanging out at his house and saw this squier and amp sitting in the corner of his living room.

I said "I didn't know you play bass, maybe we can jam some time"

to wich he responds, "oh I don't play bass."

so of coarse I asked why he had a set up.

his response, "well I picked it up at a garage sell for 80 bux, and I just keep it in the living room to impress girls when they come over."

me - "what if they ask you to play for them."

him - "I usually make up an excuse such as the neighbors complain."

now is it just me or does this just make to much sense.

Well first you have to actually get them back to your place - at which point it's usually a sealed deal anyways. If they end up sticking around long enough, they'll figure it out.

I knew a guy who "played guitar to pick up chics". Problem was he would forget to put it down to seal the deal and usually the girls ended up with someone else loitering around the bachelor pad while he still sat playing sublime tunes and taking bong hits all alone.... :ninja:

The problem with props is that it becomes a bit of an addiction and before you know it you are wearing a fake Rolex, High Heel shoes, a wig, and you've got a sock shoved down your trousers.

What!? I'm going to have to reexamine my life......

"If you liked this video cassette, you'll love: Learning the bass and NOT getting laid!"

Haha, yeah. Unless he's got roommates whose friends sometimes drop by or something like that. Then it does make him seem a little less boring than he would be otherwise.

I gotta say, though, that if you're gonna this get a bass with two or three necks. I've got one of each. Girls find those fascinating, especially the ones who only knew I played DB.

I have a buddy who is really not a bad guitar player. He said in college he just learned the first 30 seconds of songs. He would start playing, impress them a little and then quit so he could talk to them. Play a little of a different song, chat some more. I am thinking listening to him play around girls would be like listening to music at a hockey game.
