So I met this guy (lets call him john). Anyway we were hanging out at his house and saw this squier and amp sitting in the corner of his living room.

I said "I didn't know you play bass, maybe we can jam some time"

to wich he responds, "oh I don't play bass."

so of coarse I asked why he had a set up.

his response, "well I picked it up at a garage sell for 80 bux, and I just keep it in the living room to impress girls when they come over."

me - "what if they ask you to play for them."

him - "I usually make up an excuse such as the neighbors complain."

now is it just me or does this just make too much sense.

Who cares! His little trick won't last long anyway. I wouldn't worry about it. He won't get far with having the gear but never playing it. Eventually, there will be a time when he will be asked to play it and there won't be any excuse not to. Then he'll be busted...and girls talk. His little phoney life will be spread around and all the girls will know about it. Just sit back and enjoy the show. The funny thing is that an electric bass is one of the LAST instruments you should try this with. Most of the girls will think it's an electric guitar anyway.
