Bass Guitar Brands

If you take him somewhere and let him pick one out you'll DEFINITELY end up spending more then $300. Trust us when we tell you this.

I DEFINITELY agree with this. I would say schecter or ibanez but I think schecters are above your price range. There are a few things you could do. Buy a gift certificate for $300 and put in the card "for your new bass. <3"

Or you could get an Ibanez for about $300 and keep the reciept. If he plays metal get a black one. Let him take it back and exchange it if he prefers another feel (yes I would expect that.) But you still might want to have a bass there because it will hit him harder than a gift card. If he says "no, I want to keep this one because you picked it out," then just tell him it's ok that he changes his mind because you understand how important for a bass to feel right in his hands (just like you do.) If you tell him this he will love you forever. Heck I already do LOL

Oh yeah guitar center has a 30 day return policy so get it there sometime just before his birthday.

I would say as a schecter owner go for a schecter sometimes GC runs some pretty good sales on them....sometimes you can pick up a used one wicked cheap!

Hope that helps.

If you don't play bass yourself and have talked basses with him, it's going to be hard to go to the bass store yourself and pick something out that he will definitely like. Plus you are going to interact with a salesperson whose main goal is to get you to pick the instrument as high as your budget will go that has the most profit for him. it's true... just saying. (Disclaimer: there are a few really good salespeople that aren't motivated by this as much, but they are hard to find, and even harder to find at Guitar Center.)

I went to a little store by my apartment, and found what I hope was a really good deal! They were selling a brand new BTB (normally priced at around $800) for only $400 out the door! I'm so excited! Thanks for everybody's advice!

You are the best girlfriend ever. No, Really.

Don't ever let him sell that one, it's good for just about any style of music, metal is certainly no exception.

Do you have a sister? :hyper:
