For sure it's a 2001 Ramalamadingdong "S" model. Very very rare. Probably worth in the range of $27-28,000USD.

Perhaps a closeup pic of the electronics in the rear control cavity may yield some clues? Serial numbers or other builder info is sometimes in there. We may be able to at least make a guess as to when it was built, based upon the pickups or preamp (if any).

I'm also not sure I would guarantee this is bubinga. It could as easily be mahogany or sapele.
An obscure S makes me think samick, but it's not like any samick I've seen, and the hardware looks better. I still vote the whole bass was made by a small builder, with good skills.

It looks really well-made, but it's almost certainly a custom one-off. Any idea of how old it is? You might want to look up the local builders in your area to see if one of them built it.
Based on the shape of the control cavity, and that the cavity cover appears to attach above the plane of the body rather than being recessed into the body, I would guess this is an amateur build, or at least one of the builder's very early efforts. Looks like quite a tangle of wires in there too, and what looks to be a preamp wrapped in electrical tape?
Overall it seems to be a pretty decent instrument though. Might be a really nice player. There's a lot of people here who like a good mystery; hopefully someone has a better answer for you.
Sometimes, just sometimes, there is information in the control cavity, or under the pups, or even in the neck pocket ...
Thanks again for starting this thread. I love a good mystery! I'm totally stumped on that bridge. I can't find anything like it on the internet. At first I thought, "It has Gotoh tuners, so maybe it's a Gotoh bridge?" But that doesn't check out. I wonder if the bridge is DIY?

Like scuzzy, I, too, was thinking Samick, except, the logo does not have the circle around it and I can find nothing that remotely resembles it in relation to that brand.
