Bass Meme War! Go!!

Get a detuner for your E string. Best investment you'll ever make.
I have a couple of honest question re E-string detuners.

1) How much weight does one add to the headstock? Any noticeable increase in neck dive?

2) How much does it mess up the chord shapes you have ingrained in your finger memory?

I have enough basses that I could tune one down a semitone to Eb and another down two semitones to D. Same shapes, just up one or two frets. I'm not saying that's a gigging solution, just odds thoughts floating around in this aging brain. :bassist:

1. Nothing noticeable.

2. Obviously you have to remember that you are in drop D. But if you only need it for a few notes, you can re-engage it mid song.

1) Not a problem.

2) I only used the detuner for a few songs in drop-d. I just had to learn to play those specific songs. I would never try to play by ear with the detuner on.
