Happened to me recently.... we were at rehearsal going through songs to play at a gig and band commented they used to do 'Benny and the Jets'.... I mentioned I'd never played the song, but keyboardist started it and I just played along and pretty much played it note for note..... singer said to me "I thought you said you've never played it"... I've heard the song hundreds of times on the radio and just 'figured it out' as I was playing it...
