That sounds like a typical Tuesday for me.I had a nightmare about a bass I used to own. I dreamed that I was at church with a natural finish ash body, maple fingerboard Stingray 5 I used to have. I used the restroom and when I came out, the bass had been destroyed. A chunk of the body was missing. The pickup was gone and knobs from the pots were gone. The lower horn was gone and it had no strings.
There were lots of kids around and I suspected they did it, but I was mad, and I was hoping an adult did it, so I could fight the culprit. Later, I was in the church sanctuary and all I was wearing was underwear and a towel. I was angry and rude to everybody although I was largely being. Ignored.
As goofy as it was, the dream felt real. It was nice to realize it was a nightmare. I guess a Freudian analyst would have quite a lot to tell me.
That’s a strange dream, especially being mad, wanting to fight and being there at church in your underwear and a towel.I had a nightmare about a bass I used to own. I doubt it. I only dream about basses I like. I have never had a dream about a crappy bass.It could also mean you’re not supposed to buy a Stingray 5.
Cheese dreams? What did you have for dinner?
That sometimes plays into how weird my dreams are.
At least there wasn't any spiders or snakes involved!
Ze lower horn was missink you say - hmmmm (strokes beard). Zo tell me about your relationship wiz both your Vatter and Mutter.I had a nightmare about a bass I used to own. The theorys of Jung might be a bit more geounded than those of Freud. Perhaps the bass represents the fact that the some part of the world external to yourself is distressed, changing. There is an event happening or about to happen that is making you question who/what you are.
But destruction is simply the beginning point of reconstruction. A measured analysis of what was, and planning for how to build it back but better. Won't be easy.
The trip to the bathroom suggests that the change was forced upon you, whether through design or simple circumstance. The kids and general sense of anger suggest you are not entirely pleased with the neccessity of the change.
The state of undress is an acknowledgement that the journey will be difficult, possibly more so that you can manage. The church venue symbolizes your sources of strength - experiences, people and places from which you derive a sense of foundation. You will find strength in these things.
25 years on and finally use that one semester of classes I had!
Due to the slightly farcical nature of the whole dream, I imagined it soundtracked with the Wesley Willis' classic (NSFW) "They Threw Me Out Of Church"...
