Bass overdrive pedal

The Mojo Mojo is one I never gelled with. The distortion character just isn't for me, but it is a warm overdrive when you use low gain.

I like the MojoMojo and even I agree... it’s good as a mild OD, but doesn’t sound good if you turn up the gain. If you want something more toward the high-gain distortion end, look elsewhere. Personally I use a Boneshaker for that.

I think the thing to consider when it comes to overdrives is how they sound in mix. I play in a modern hard rock band. Lots of dirty
Guitars and the guitars are tuned down to B. I ended up using the darkglass Microtubes X which based on demo videos I initially would have thought was the wrong pedal for me. But it’s all about how it sounds in the mix with the band. I’ve owned many overdrive pedals over the years where the grit sounds good by itself but then when I’m playing with the band you couldn’t even tell I was using them. The microtubes x is a pretty extreme overdrive but in the mix it sounds great to me. Often times I think people who really want subtle overdrive would actually be better off using one of the nicer boost pedals on the market than an actual overdrive.

Lot of boost pedals will get into overdrive territory. Some people use them specifically for that.

Lol, i traded my ODB-3 for a bag of coffee beans. True story... a friend who plays guitar is head roaster at a small local coffeehouse.

I am sure the beans sound better..even after indigestion.....but on the serious side , BLUEBERRY BASS OD , ONE CONTROL BLACKBERRY BASS OD , MR BLACK THUNDERCLAW , FUZZ DOG BLUEJUICE OVERDRIVE , ELLMAN BASS TONE RHINO (MADE TO ORDER AND AFFORDABLE ) . Now I will take 2 sweet&lows and a lot milk in that coffee Please ! you don't have to wear a mask lol!

I’ve got that Digitech bass drive pedal. I’m going to second a lot of the comments I’ve seen in this thread so far by saying that it’s just ok. I find it hard to love any of the sounds I get out of it. It loses so much low end that it sounds odd when the unaltered signal is blended back in. You can clearly tell that it’s two separate sounds, not one cohesive signal.
