Two extra loud guitar players who don't understand the concept of stage volume.

It's not so much the volume of the guitars I hate, it's their "tone" which is so wide that everything sounds muddy. I have done the same as others in this thread and just turned my gear off and asked if I could be heard well enough - of course they said yes.

Drummers who play while the bassist or guitarist are tuning (without a tuner).

Noodling or practicing between songs at a gig.

The misconception from guitarists and bassists that buying a pedal will make everything better.

Guitarists that have too big of a sound that tries to cover all the frequency spectrum.

Oh, another one I can't believe I forgot. I run into the following situation quite a bit when level checking at shows or at practices where non-band members are allowed in:

Oh and another thing, those "You should really get a P-bass or a MM, they're the only basses worth playing" people kinda tick me off...I mean a nice fender or a delicious MM is a joy to play, but there's not one "right" kind of bass...

The problem here is there are quite a few people in the world that don't know there are basses that have more than 4 strings.

Showing them this will simply confuse their little minds.

Yes. Actually, the clips were some of their more commercial offerings. And Les Claypool is a monster. Anyone who slaps/taps on a 6 string fretless as well as him is talented. He also claims Geddy is his biggest influence, so I like him for that.

It seems like he is the "bass god" reference for the average rock fan. I think that is why people always ask if I can play his stuff. Its like "you can play something other than running 8th notes. So, you must be able play this retardedly technical song by the quirkiest band in history even though your bass has frets and 2 fewer strings, right?" There is a middle ground people. Thats all I'm sayin.
