March 1977 - a real 100% original corker !



Yep, didn't see the point in hogging them all, as I don't play in a band any more. Now there are another 8 happy bassists out there .



True enough. Now that I've added a few lenses, the total value is getting close to that of my former bass collection . Still, I'm a better photographer than I was a musician (although that's not really saying much ), so I can live with that .



Nope, not messin' - all sold!

The black bass in the picture is actually my StealthRay, which was broken down to make the JazzRay, which I still have and will probably never sell .

I still have three really great basses at home, though. A pair of Fender CS P Basses and the JazzRay. Here's an old pic, which barely qualifies for inclusion in this thread. Must get the D700 out and have a go at an updated portrait .

Well at least you kept some basses so you can still play.

I really love that JazzRay.

Thanks, NR, it is a bit special.

It's based on a '59 P, with a 10 hole tort guard (a very rare thing) and painted in Shoreline Gold with matching headstock. When the lacquer ages, it should turn a little more yellow and look a little more gold, like this (hopefully ) ...

It has a very sexy flamed maple neck too ...

I'm really liking that bass.

What's it like? Looks like a Hofner Club bass but it also seems chambered. Very cool bass!

No problemo! They are Lakland ChiSonic pickups. I have them in different configurations in three different basses. Totally love 'em. They have a wider frequency range than a standard pickup. Like a Darkstar, with more mid range growl.

Thanks! They really do. I posted this photo already but here are the other basses with ChiSonics in different configs. The natural one has ChiSonics that are switchable from humbuckers to single coils.
