Bass Player 4x10" Shootout

To some extent I'll agree with you BUT sometimes you have to go with a leap of faith. I did this when I bought my first Carvin six string after reading positive reviews about Carvin in BP. I have three now. Never regretted a single purchase. I did it again after reading the reviews on The Acme B2. I own four and now I'd use nothing else.

Oh of course you do, I have been known to do that too. I'm just saying I prefer reviews of products from people that aren't getting any profit out of it (like reviews from people on this site). If you are company A that pays for a full page of advertising each month and gives your product to test and keep, or company B that pays for a 1/4 page and wants the product back after 2 weeks......I think you get the idea.

Back when this shootout was done the BP reveiws had some real meat to them. Jim Roberts was in charge and if they didn't like something they would really dog on it. Today it seems like they just gush over everything so I've found that TB is a much better source for what works because you get so many different veiws on gear. BP still is a good source but I let my subscription die this year having started it in 95 ,TB works much better for me. Also Tom Bowlus new magazine is also great.
