Just in case you missed it the first time

In particular see what he said in post #57 and my comment to him later in post #118 which is apparently what upset him so much. Really I don't particularly want to drag this on any further but I don't believe the way I am continually being dragged in by this individual is something I should have to tolerate. Especially given my patience with him so far. I mean can you possibly imagine that he bears me ill will? Especially when I gave him this advice for nothing, albeit apparently ignored.

Tip: following an arrogant comment with "I'm not arrogant" doesn't change the fact the comment you made was arrogant and egotistical.

Actually I have found Most TBers to be open minded and supportive. I posted a VID of my band because I was all down and out about how bad we sounded and got nothing but support from the respondents. and it was acrappy little Sony camcorder video.
As for the thread in general where's the humor?

I'm not really clear whether you are directing that at me or at 4StringFury. Either way I don't remember ever saying "I'm not arrogant" on the other hand I don't see where expecting more than being insulted by 4StringFury is arrogant, especially when I put aside our former "difference of opinion" to give him some practical advice.

You can read my posts on talkbass and compare them to anything 4StringFury has to say and then tell me I am arrogant for thinking 4StringFury is little more than a confused kid. Either way I really just wanted to point out the reason he is holding a grudge is as silly as everything he has been saying on this thread.

Basically, the way I see it, and put into his terms, he entered into a duel and didn't come out on top. The reason I got involved in it in the first place was that I originally was giving advice to the OP on the thread and 4StringFury comes along and starts talking down to me and everyone else like he is the resident authority on all things "metal". I can see, and I'm sure almost anyone else who knows anything about anything, that my knowledge about this particular type of music and music in general far exceeds his. I don't think it is arrogant of me to say so either.

The thing that sincerely worries me is that someone with the attitude that if you don't agree with someone it's ok to undermine and disrespect them and bear them ill-will is studying to be a psychologist apparently. I really do hope he grows out of it.

lol, I could've saved you a book had you just put what's above. I was directing my comments to 4StringFury, sorry for the lack of clarification.

If you recall, he (4sf) constantly makes arrogant/egotistical remarks then follows them with "I'm not arrogant/egotisital."

I just found it interesting that he claims to be good and wants everyone to know it, but when we (damn, maybe just I) want to see what he can do, he refuses. And what he does offer up doesn't even have him actually playing a bass.

Well I apologize for jumping the gun about the kid in the video, I must have mis-read that it was him.
So like I say, I apologize for that. I'm more surprised that its been 2 arguements, given your "I'm hot ****" mentaility, it sure rubs lots of people the wrong way, myself very much included.
I myself learn from everybody here as if I never even picked up a bass, I think if you were to do the same you'd have people beating a path to your doorstep asking you to be in their band. I honestly think its comical of how egotisitical people have nothing to be egotistical about. There are LOTS of bassists here that are just beyond amazing, at everything bass-related they do, including their attitute. Yet I've seen all of not a single one of them boast about it or shove that down peoples throats. THAT is worthy of respect.

this thread was for personal stories of encounters with other bassists, not for stereotypes or for your opinion (and i dont mean that to sound harsh, but really). there's enough bickering about this stuff in the other forums.

No offense was meant to you, or anyone, I was merely trying to get the thread back on topic. In truth, I've only ever met one other bassist and hes a good friend of mine lol. I apologize if anything I said was taken to be insulting to anyone.
